Is the NBA rigging draft lotteries now?

That just saved Niko and likely the entire Dallas franchise. They were heading into disaster territory within a year or two if that didn't just happen.

Luck exists

Ive been hit with the 2 outer in poker...lots and lots.

Shit happens.

Not rigged. The most likely team to get the #1 pick only has a 14% chance.

None of this seems unusual at all ROFL

What is unusual about math?

Just probabilities.

Luck happens.

Its happened before and it will happen again.

Anyway, Raptors are completely screwed now. NBA would only ever let them get the #1 pick when it was the Andrea Bargnani year.

Why would the NBA want the Mavs over Toronto? Toronto is probably stronger fanbase. They are also a similar sized Metropolitan area.

Dallas trades the #1 pick back to LA for Luka.

I will never forgive Nico Harrison and the Adelsons are scummy people but it’s awesome to get some hope back as a Mavs fan!

Because Toronto is in Canada.

The NBA absolutely loves international markets.

Americans don't even like the NBA very much.

They are even looking to make their own European league.

Oklahoma City is about to win the NBA Title and has by far the most assets in the NBA. They are set up to be really, really good for a decade. That is a nightmare for the NBA as a brand. But...its still happening.

Toronto is much larger than Dallas and it's one of the most successful organizations in the sport. They were and are at no risk of losing fans regardless of how bad they get (the demand is very high, I easily sold most of my tickets this year).

Dallas was losing them in massive numbers after the Luka deal and heading into complete disaster mode by 2027. Getting Flagg saves their entire trajectory under this ownership.

I always knew simpletons would claim conspiracy when it happened. It is what people do.

They cannot fathom something that is unlikely to happen, happened.

Obviously anything that has a percentage chance can happen.

This is only like the 5th luckiest #1 pick in league history. So four other teams have gotten luckier in the NBA Lottery. Luck happens.

NBA probably despised Toronto winning in 2019 (ESPN certainly did). NBA definitely wouldn't want OKC to do so either, which is another reason I favor the Celtics against them in a potential Finals matchup.

Not that I'm trying to disprove my own argument but the Greater Dallas area has 8.3M people vs the Greater Toronto area at 7.1M. Nonetheless similar market sizes.
