It's called the Vernal Equinox in this country, Frankie.

Is this where everybody fires weapons off into the air (and hope the bullets don't come down on somebody)?

blaise 03-20-2012 08:33 AM

What's with the fish? Do you eat that or is it a pet or something? After the holiday do you flush it?

Yes it is. Part of the ancient tradition of the Norooz display.

Dayze 03-20-2012 10:59 AM

I asked for Peyton, but like a lot of things in the old country public service is terrible there. ;)

I am very excited for the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. I love getting those little marshmellow bunnies!

If they make it for the 2 weeks of Norooz they are kept as pets, or in my case they'll be residents of my fish pond at the entrance of my house. Two of the five died within hours of purchase anyway. :(
