Remind me not to attempt to start a wave when you guys are around. That could be embarrassing.

I could understand people getting pissy about people standing the entire game. But, when a big play happens, you can count on the fact I'll be standing up cheering.
I've only had a couple of games where people complain and both times it was the typical whine and cheese crowd sitting behind me with tickets they bought online. And both times I reminded them that they're at a football game. If they wanted to sit and chat during a game, go to a baseball game. |

Touchdown Kansas City..everyone sitting nicely in there seats.
What are they gonna do? Kick everyone out? |
If they don't want people to get intoxicated at the game, perhaps they should consider selling something other than beer on the upper level when it's 90* out. Anyone that doesn't want to hike down to the concessions risks either getting drunk or having a heatstroke.
|
This has been a rule for a long time. Its just to cover their ass for legal purposes, nothing new dont know why we have a 7 page thread on it. Also like I have said before the ticket base is getting older, you baby boomers who were the crazy bastards in the 90's arent exactly young anymore.
|
Man, what a trip reading all the responses and bickering about this supposed new rule. Nothing has changed. This one has been on the books a long time. How do I know. ? Many of you planeteers know me. Refer to the link named "So this officer took my flask" in the Hall of Classics. Just seeing the back and forth here gives you insight as to what is put up with at the games. Assume your a season ticket holder and someone i front of you is blocking your view and throwing the F Bomb around. And they happen to be a season ticket holder as well. You both payed the same. Who is more right? As for the drinking, please do. But be smart enough to stay under the drank enough to be a jerk level. Never did like dealing with the passed out or vomiting ones. Boils down to common sense and a little courtosy. If tempers are rising over blocked views the rest assured it will be dealt with.

Found this on another site, interesting.
In a “Chiefs Fan Code of Conduct,” folks attending home games are told that Arrowhead Stadium staff will “proactively intervene” to prevent behaviors such as standing. And a new way to report problems: Text messaging will be introduced to our fans in 2008 as an additional line of communication on day of game. Text messaging will allow you to communicate more clearly and confidentially. Fans can text 816.679.7555 before, during and after the game from any cell phone to report any issues or problems. |

You expect me to not respond when you call me names when I've done nothing to you? You think I'm Amish? A Quaker? turn the other cheek kind of guy? If you said those things you have said in here to my face we would be through talking. |

• Standing and/or obstructing the view of other fans. I've never been to a Chiefs game where you would sit. I went to the Arizona game last year and was appauled at the Cardinals fans who sat as if at the theatre. Granted they are fans of the losing spors franchise ever, but I made the comment to some of them (while standing), "You can;t support your team from your ASS!" And in a new stadium no-less.:harumph:

If you don't want to stand up at a football game, watch it on ****ing television. Jesus.

The answer is pretty simple. Stand and yell when we are on defense and sit down and shut up when we are on offense (until after the play.)
You should not stand and cheer the entire game. Only while on defense (and for some weird reason special teams which gives no advantage to either team.) I was at the Chiefs Raider game in Oakland on Monday night a few years back with Big Daddy and was able to get the whole section to cheer Rai - Ders. They had the ball and were driving to win the game in the final seconds and their fans were yelling while the QB was calling plays at the line of scrimmage. Idiots. |

There is absolutely no reason to stand for the entire game. If you do, you deserve the crap you get from the others around you.

No standing at Chiefs games?
<!-- END tabs --><!-- begin content -->There's a bit of a buzz on the Internet right now about the Chiefs' "Fan Code of Conduct," which is posted on the team's website. Specifically, one policy states that the Arrowhead Stadium staff will proactively intervene with fans who are "standing and/or obstructing the view of other fans." Hmmm. No standing during a football game? Ever? Sit down, please! Is that even possible? (Well, maybe it is, considering how dull the Chiefs offense was last season.) But let's take the policy for the spirit it was intended: There are appropriate times to stand, or even remain standing. I'll give you a hint: Goal-line situations, fourth-and-1, etc. Stand at those times. But you don't stand the entire game just to be a nuisance, blocking the view of the fans behind you. Still, the vague wording of the Chiefs' policy did lead to a pretty good line from one of best NFL websites, www.profootballtalk.com, which wrote, "...maybe, down the road, it's just another way to raise money. Fans will be able to stand...if they've purchased a Personal Standing License (PSL)." http://overthetop.kansascity.com/?q=node/46 |
This is teh ghey. They tried to implement this a few years ago at Ben Hill Griffin in the student section. The student section stand the entire game, only sitting down during a brief commercial break or during halftime. Cops kept coming through telling people to sit-down. They might have been more successful if the logically started in the 1st row and moving upwards - but starting at the top and telling people to sit down while the rows directly in front of them were still standing was doomed to failure.
Letters were written to the AA complaining about this and inquiring to the purpose of this new policy. Suffice it to say they abandoned this ridiculous notion of making the student section sit during games. Instead, they now focus on making sure the student section does not stand on the bleachers during the games. |
Are midgets exempt from this rule? Obviously, a midget has difficulty seeing over a normal-sized person seated in front of them, so standing is their only option. I wouldn't have a problem with midgets getting the boot out of the stadium, of course. Then again, maybe the new Arrowhead will have a midget section where they can clap with their miniature hands and cheer with their squeaky little voices.

Carl: "IF YOU KICK ME OUT I'LL TAKE THE BALL WITH ME."

You guys have all missed the boat on this one.
Carl is still concerned about the Offensive Line, and his worry is that all those people standing will make the QBs feel bad, wishing they could stand during the game, as well. |

Why in ****s sake did you feel compelled to bump a 4 year old thread concerning a policy change? |

At that point I realized ithis was not your regular "fight in the stands" but, being so close after 9/11 my first thought was it was a terrorist act. |

|
Sooooooo.......the assumption is that they'll have enough people in the stands to worry about this? OK, I'll sit during the games!
|
Stand up and shout CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!
|
They can say that but they won't enforce it. Only time they would enforce no standing is if you are the only one standing, then I could see them saying to sit down. when 80,000 people stand up you aren't going to make them sit.
|
They could have just said "Standing only permitted when Cassel makes a positive play" and achieved the same outcome of no standing allowed.

This guy really pissed me off because my family has had these seats since 1980 and I've never had an asshole like this sit behind me in 30 years. I know when to sit and when to stand. I hope this **** moves seats next year, I don't think I can put up with it again... He may be the next person to bounce off a club level seat...lol |
