Zilla is the 1-5 Chiefs, Milkman is on an 8 game win streak. LMAO
|
It is amazing this is even a conversation. Technically, if the teams with the best record won every game from here on out... the Chiefs would win the division. You could've made a lot of money by betting people this would even be an idea with two weeks to go.
|
Allow me to say the obvious here:
We really, REALLY need the Beincos to win out and take the AFCW. Our absolute most favorable matchup is against Weeden in Houston, NOT against Roethlesberger at Arrowhead. Hell the Steelers are probably the best team in the AFC with that offense. Winning at Houston means we go to either Denver or Cincy in round 2 (assuming Steelers win their first round game). |

Pussy way. |
The steelers aren't coming to arrowhead in yhe wildcard round.
If the chiefs and steelers win out and the Bengals beat denver, the steelers are the 5 seed, going to the afc south winner, with the 6 seed denver or jets coming to kc. |

I don't think there is a chance the steelers are the 6 seed without the chiefs being the 5 seed.

It's a virtual impossibility that we meet the Steelers in the first round of the playoffs when you go through the playoff machine. Like, I can't even fathomably make it work.
Who cares what else happens. Beat the team put in front of you, Chiefs. This week that would be the Cleveland Browns. |

Can I just say for as scary as the Steelers passing game may be, can we stop calling them the scariest team in the conference? It's New England. It's the Hoodie. It's the GOAT, Tom Brady.
They come into every playoff game with an incredible game plan and tricks to get them through the rough patches. Pittsburgh consistently blows coverages and Ben still makes 2 poor decisions per game, if not more. It's not a contest between who is more beatable come January, hypothetically. But again, Cleveland. |

I thought Chiefs Fan wanted us to tank for a pick. Something about "meaningless wins."

Fair enough |
The Bengals have little to play for next week, correct? That's my concern w/ the division thing at stake.
|
I'm leaning towards not wanting to win the division.
Playing the Texans with Brandon Wheedon at QB? I'll take that anyday |

I'll say this... you guys are on one of the craziest roller coaster of emotions during this ride. Since week 7, you've gone from worst to nearly first in the division and have been one of the hotter teams.
I'm not going to nit-pick, 8 game win streak is an 8 game win streak. And, we've got an interesting race to close out the season, that's all you can ask for with the NFL. Lots of crazy drama in the AFC. Hell, if Denver could score a TD in either second half over the last two weeks, there would be a bit less drama. It is what it is. Bengals (11-3) - @ Broncos, Ravens Broncos (10-4) - Bengals & Chargers Chiefs (9-5) - Browns & Raiders Steelers (9-5) - @ Ravens, @ Browns Jets (9-5) - Patriots, @ Bills Broncos/Bengals is HUUUGE this week. |

Again - what are the Bengals playing for though - am I missing something? I don't see them playing all of their starters. |

The backstory with the last win being in HOU 22 years ago is kinda cool, so ending it there would be one of those poetic sports things. |

Bengals haven't clinched their division yet either

I have no idea why people want to go on the road for the whole playoffs.
I want a home game at Arrowhead with the home crowd. To give that up is asinine. |
That is just so incredible to wrap your head around. The Chiefs were 5 games down after 7 games. 2-5 while Denver was 7-0. One game short of half the season behind us, who could've imagined that this team would have the division title in their grasps 7 games later? Certainly not me. I really hope that Cincinnati can beat the Donks next week and we can win out and close the deal. That would be so epic!

The Chiefs are statistically less likely to miss the playoffs than Denver because they have all the tiebreaks if they win out, and their schedule is favorable: home games against the Browns and Raiders. If the Broncos slip up once and the Chiefs win out, Kansas City will be your AFC West champions...........per NFL.com

You don't win 9 straight by being lucky.
I get that. With that said, we're much like Den now scoring very little on O and depending on pts from the D. We need to ramp up the O and find a way to maintain the defensive pressure... |

The Ravens scored 14. We still win without the defensive points. |

On O and D. Being down doesn't make them cave. In fact they seem to play better from behind than ahead... |

Could have been sarcastic, but it didn't seem that way, given the phrasing and timing of the remark. |

Exactly |
So if the Chiefs win out and the Steelers win out...and the Donks drop one more, the Chiefs would host the Donks in the wild card round, is that correct?

It's still possible, although unlikely, for us to get the #2 seed.
|
Ever since my family and I went to Kansas City and watched the Chiefs beat the Steelers at Arrowhead, they haven't lost a game. I'm thinking all the planeteers should open their hearts and wallets to fund our return to your great city for a playoff game. Just think what might be at stake if we aren't there?

But, let's say that scenario holds out, but Denver beats SD in Denver... they get the #2 and KC's prize is a trip to PIT. Good luck with all that, Landry Jones won't be waiting for you. But, keep that scenario in play, CIN beats BAL and say Jets beat NE this week... then KC goes to HOU, and that's what I would call ideal. A shot at ending the 22 year curse in the city you last won during the playoffs. Get it done there and THEN go on the road and march towards greatness. |
I am selfish. I want us to stay at the 5 seed and have a game in Houston. Then I would be able to go to a second game this year (somehow find the money, somewhere)! :)

Donks missing the playoffs would make me almost as happy as us destroying them.

Here's a fun thought: if the CHIEFS, Steelers, Jets and Bengals all win next week, Denver will not be in playoffs headed into week 17 and will need a loss from KC, Pitt or New York to make it in. |
It's absolutely terrifying looking at the possibilities. We literally can't budge an inch this season down the stretch. It is win or you're out in my opinion. I can easily see the Jets downing a depleted Patriots and making three 11-5 teams. I
