Zilla is the 1-5 Chiefs, Milkman is on an 8 game win streak. LMAO

tk13 12-20-2015 10:16 PM

It is amazing this is even a conversation. Technically, if the teams with the best record won every game from here on out... the Chiefs would win the division. You could've made a lot of money by betting people this would even be an idea with two weeks to go.

Direckshun 12-20-2015 10:21 PM

Allow me to say the obvious here:

We really, REALLY need the Beincos to win out and take the AFCW. Our absolute most favorable matchup is against Weeden in Houston, NOT against Roethlesberger at Arrowhead. Hell the Steelers are probably the best team in the AFC with that offense.

Winning at Houston means we go to either Denver or Cincy in round 2 (assuming Steelers win their first round game).

Pussy way.

O.city 12-20-2015 10:24 PM

The steelers aren't coming to arrowhead in yhe wildcard round.

If the chiefs and steelers win out and the Bengals beat denver, the steelers are the 5 seed, going to the afc south winner, with the 6 seed denver or jets coming to kc.

I don't think there is a chance the steelers are the 6 seed without the chiefs being the 5 seed.

It's a virtual impossibility that we meet the Steelers in the first round of the playoffs when you go through the playoff machine. Like, I can't even fathomably make it work.

Who cares what else happens. Beat the team put in front of you, Chiefs. This week that would be the Cleveland Browns.

You're confused. If we win the west, we get a chance to slaughter donkeys in Arrowhead. I'm telling you- it would be the best five-head send off!!!

pugsnotdrugs19 12-20-2015 10:37 PM

Can I just say for as scary as the Steelers passing game may be, can we stop calling them the scariest team in the conference? It's New England. It's the Hoodie. It's the GOAT, Tom Brady.

They come into every playoff game with an incredible game plan and tricks to get them through the rough patches.

Pittsburgh consistently blows coverages and Ben still makes 2 poor decisions per game, if not more. It's not a contest between who is more beatable come January, hypothetically.

But again, Cleveland.

It's unlikely, but not impossible. It's very possible if the Chiefs won the division and the Steelers somehow dropped one of the last two... but the Steelers will be favored in the next two for sure.

If they lose a game, they likely miss the playoffs, unless the jets lose to the Pats too

Also wouldn't overlook the Jets playing Buffalo in a Rex Ryan revenge game. At Buffalo. If the weather conditions are terrible that might be an edge for Buffalo.

Buffalo has quit on Rex. Mario Williams is so sick of Rex that he called in sick this week. No joke.

Mario quit on the team a long time ago. He's been a brat all season long. I wouldn't count out the Bills at home in January being anything close to an easy out against a Jets team that: 1) already lost to the Bills once; 2) haven't proven they can consistently beat even mediocre competition.

Fair enough

Simply Red 12-21-2015 07:06 AM

The Bengals have little to play for next week, correct? That's my concern w/ the division thing at stake.

Deberg_1990 12-21-2015 07:08 AM

I'm leaning towards not wanting to win the division.

Playing the Texans with Brandon Wheedon at QB?

I'll take that anyday

The Steelers don't scare me - even more so - I'd invite the steel men to town and buy them a Gates snack-plate if Houston plays. We win even when we're playing poorly, at least NOW we do. Bring on anybody!

Mile High Mania 12-21-2015 07:35 AM

I'll say this... you guys are on one of the craziest roller coaster of emotions during this ride. Since week 7, you've gone from worst to nearly first in the division and have been one of the hotter teams.

I'm not going to nit-pick, 8 game win streak is an 8 game win streak. And, we've got an interesting race to close out the season, that's all you can ask for with the NFL.

Lots of crazy drama in the AFC. Hell, if Denver could score a TD in either second half over the last two weeks, there would be a bit less drama. It is what it is.

Bengals (11-3) - @ Broncos, Ravens
Broncos (10-4) - Bengals & Chargers
Chiefs (9-5) - Browns & Raiders
Steelers (9-5) - @ Ravens, @ Browns
Jets (9-5) - Patriots, @ Bills

Broncos/Bengals is HUUUGE this week.

Probably but Cincy's D is probably quite a bit better than Pitt's. So, as long as the Bengals can score they have this.

It's one of those be careful what you wish for... home game vs a better team or road game vs a questionable team that's just happy to be there?

The backstory with the last win being in HOU 22 years ago is kinda cool, so ending it there would be one of those poetic sports things.

I have no idea why people want to go on the road for the whole playoffs.

I want a home game at Arrowhead with the home crowd. To give that up is asinine.

jjchieffan 12-21-2015 10:55 AM

That is just so incredible to wrap your head around. The Chiefs were 5 games down after 7 games. 2-5 while Denver was 7-0. One game short of half the season behind us, who could've imagined that this team would have the division title in their grasps 7 games later? Certainly not me. I really hope that Cincinnati can beat the Donks next week and we can win out and close the deal. That would be so epic!

I know, right? It's worked so well in the past...

KCwolf 12-21-2015 01:08 PM

The Chiefs are statistically less likely to miss the playoffs than Denver because they have all the tiebreaks if they win out, and their schedule is favorable: home games against the Browns and Raiders. If the Broncos slip up once and the Chiefs win out, Kansas City will be your AFC West champions...........per NFL.com

Rausch 12-21-2015 01:16 PM

You don't win 9 straight by being lucky.

I get that.

With that said, we're much like Den now scoring very little on O and depending on pts from the D.

We need to ramp up the O and find a way to maintain the defensive pressure...

We scored 20 pts yesterday on offense.

We still win without the defensive points.

The Chiefs offense is showing new wrinkles each week. IMO, that's more important than scoring 30+ points every game, especially when guys like Ware, Allen and DAT have been sidelined while
Fulton has played two different positions in the past three weeks.

No, the last two weeks it's been the same old wrinkles and warts we hated all year long on offense.

The talent on our team has overcome the $3it-tastic play calling.

This team is definitely resilient.

On O and D. Being down doesn't make them cave.

In fact they seem to play better from behind than ahead...

Unless the jets win out yes

It's still possible, although unlikely, for us to get the #2 seed.
  • We win out
  • Bengals drop their last two.
  • Steelers win out
  • Broncos beat Bengals in week 16 and lose at home to Chargers in week 17

CanadaKC 12-21-2015 03:59 PM

Ever since my family and I went to Kansas City and watched the Chiefs beat the Steelers at Arrowhead, they haven't lost a game. I'm thinking all the planeteers should open their hearts and wallets to fund our return to your great city for a playoff game. Just think what might be at stake if we aren't there?

It could be that. Chiefs are also 8-0 when GoChiefs is banned from game day threads....which is most likely the cause of this win streak.

And, in that scenario, Denver goes to Houston ... I'll take that road trip. That would set up (likely) Denver @ KC, sure - why not. This place would be en fuego for so many reasons, but coming out of the bye with a chance to keep the streak going... that would be a nice consolation prize.

But, let's say that scenario holds out, but Denver beats SD in Denver... they get the #2 and KC's prize is a trip to PIT. Good luck with all that, Landry Jones won't be waiting for you.

But, keep that scenario in play, CIN beats BAL and say Jets beat NE this week... then KC goes to HOU, and that's what I would call ideal. A shot at ending the 22 year curse in the city you last won during the playoffs. Get it done there and THEN go on the road and march towards greatness.

Hydrae 12-21-2015 04:28 PM

I am selfish. I want us to stay at the 5 seed and have a game in Houston. Then I would be able to go to a second game this year (somehow find the money, somewhere)! :)

Here's a fun thought: if the CHIEFS, Steelers, Jets and Bengals all win next week, Denver will not be in playoffs headed into week 17 and will need a loss from KC, Pitt or New York to make it in.

jLoy88 12-21-2015 08:54 PM

It's absolutely terrifying looking at the possibilities. We literally can't budge an inch this season down the stretch. It is win or you're out in my opinion. I can easily see the Jets downing a depleted Patriots and making three 11-5 teams. I thinkhope the Broncos may very well drop 2 more games giving us the division and leaving them out.
