Just a week ago, Orton was NOT real competition for Cassel. At best he was a salve to PR, who threw 2 TD in 3 games and stalled out repeatedly in the red zone. He was the choker under pressure who extended the era of no franchise QB into eternity. Now he's backing up the one other QB in the NFL I metaphysically know will never appear in a SB [despite being the culmination of every ounce of Cassel's wildest potential] and Poili jettisoned him to mask Cassel's inadequacies, despite his boss prostrating himself to legitimate competition to no avail.

Seriously, reconcile lobbying for Manning, letting Orton go for big $$, and signing Quinn outside RAC having real faith in the guy, and not some conspiracy to mask Cassel.

Who were they supposed to sign really? they had to give Manning a chance. Orton had signed and we were stuck. Once Manning told the Chiefs to move on, we had little to no options for a QB.

The Chiefs did what they could. I know this organization sucks at times, but this offseason, they went out n signed some good players.

We jsut lack the thing that always ****s this organization QB. Like i said in another thread. we are just gonna have to luck out on a guy liek Stanzi in the later rounds like the Patriots did with Brady. I dont ever see this team trying to draft a qb regardless of who's the GM.

Orton would have been a far better option as the short term answer (until the Chiefs are in a position to draft a legit QBOTF) than Cassel or Quinn.

Kasl will never find success in KC. The city, the fan base, and the football gods want nothing to do with Kasl in a Chiefs uni. Everything could click this offseason for the guy and he is out there chucking 50 yard bombs on the button for the first 3 games, the fans are screaming his name, he finally ****ing arrived... and then will have a career ending injury on a missed block by DMC.

I don't see this as negatively as everyone else does.

With RG3 and Manning out of reach, the chances of us having a new starter were already zero. The question was just who the competition for Cassel would be. Quinn is probably no better than Cassel but Orton wasn't substantially better either. None of those three guys are good enough so it doesn't matter much which two you have.

I don't think they are under any illusion that Quinn is the answer. If there were a QB on the board in the middle rounds they can still take him just as well and go into camp with four QBs and cut the worst one.

I dont see who else we can get for competition at this point so it doesn't really matter which "just a guy" it is. We are still waiting for 2013 at best for a new quality starter just as we were yesterday.

Sounds like the QB we already have.
