In the draft I'm not excited about anyone other than RG3 and Luck. I don't really want to give Henne or Orton a 5 year deal, and start all over down the Cassel road. So, for now we have Cassel and Quinn. I badly want a franchise QB, but this isn't the year.

A lot of sense here. Perhaps with only Casshole and Quinn to compete with it will make Stanzi look all the better.

And anyone who had the pipe dream of us trading up for Luck or RG3 was really smoking some good shit.

Keep doubting Stanzi... at your own peril.

Messier is a mult for Scott Pioli?

Signing Winston only makes me lament one thing: That we didn't trade the farm of draft picks away to land RG3. We still would have had some late-round picks to fill in depth where needed, and would have our franchise QB.

Of all the teams making a push to give up draft picks for RG3, we were the team who could most afford to lose the picks.

How many years worth of picks were you willing to give up?

TheGuardian 03-18-2012 10:04 AM

OMG.

We didn't have the ammo to trade for RGIII! Nor, should we have tried to create it. It's too ****ing much to give up. JFC.........

Honestly this is better than drafting a first round qb because quinn was ALREADY drafted in the first round but nobody really knows what he's capable of yet. Its like we got a first round qb FOR FREE. Pioli is a goddam genius

this.

I'm def willing to see what happens with Quinn.

He was slated to go #2 overall but fell. Sounds like Rodgers but without a good situation to be in.

I just hope that the reason we went after him is because Romeo wants to give him a legit shot over Cassel. I can't take another ****ing season of Cassel not even being able to throw to the back on the run on a simple wheel route. JFC........

Lets see - to move from #6 to #2 it took:

2012 #2
2013 # 1
2014 #1

To move from #11 to #2 based on what the Rams got.

2012 #2, #3
2013 #1, #2
2014 #1, #2

At minimum. And then the Rams would actually want to move out of the top 10- since they can still pick up who they wanted at #6 but cant at #11.

I wouldn't do that.

Meanwhile you waste this year with Cassel and hope and pray and cross your little fingers and toes they use a 1st next year to draft a QB as good as a prospect as RGIII. Good luck with that.

ACtually Quinn may win the spot if given a fair shake.

And RGIII is hardly some sure bet at all. A run around QB coming from a simplified spread offense reeks of bust.
