2. So, it's okay to ask one guy to take a pay cut but not another. QB don't deserve to take less than market value, but defensive ends do. That seems awfully subjective, there.
3. Tom Brady - while a cheater - at least understands that paying your QB 20 million dollars a year cripples the franchise. Something Noodle Arm doesn't seem to grasp...

1) when did I say he was at the top of his game? 60% of Manning is still a top 5 NFL QB, though.

2) it's ok to ask Peyton Manning to take a paycut, or Drew Brees, or any elite QB ... but they don't have to take one, and they shouldn't take flak for not taking one, either. The idea of pay cuts for superstar athletes to me is hilarious. Mike DeVito is not a superstar. He would have to take a paycut to ensure himself a roster spot. HUGE difference between Mike DeVito and Peyton ****ing Manning.

3) Tom Brady is the only elite NFL QB that plays on a "discounted deal" (heavily discounted at that). If you're going to bash "noodle arm" for not playing below market value, then you have to bash Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Colin Kaepernick, Jay Cutler, Alex Smith, Phil Rivers, Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Sam Bradford, and every other starting QB in the NFL that isn't on a new rookie deal like Andy Luck or Russell Wilson.

It is HILARIOUS to me that Peyton is "a bad guy" because he won't take a pay cut, but no one lumps Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers in with him. And it's all on the premise because TOM BRADY does it ... for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ... a team SYNONYMOUS with CHEATING. Yeah, I bet they aren't circumventing the cap here. They definitely deserve the benefit of the doubt!

but it is absolutely hilarious that people on this website don't understand that in the NFL, there are contracts for QB's, and then there are contracts for everyone else.

Comparing Peyton Manning's contract to Mike DeVito is hilarious. It's like comparing LeBron taking "less money" in Miami to whatever Tom Brady is playing for in New England this year (since it's not a real contract). In fact, I don't know which "point" was dumber.

Another thread taken over by the peyton manning obsession.

Hootie 02-25-2015 01:31 PM

Don't blame me, but if people are going to parade around and mock me I'll divert threads to exactly where they want me to take them. Tell me, did I bring up Peyton Manning in this thread, or did someone else? I eagerly await your findings.

Can't make the club if you're in the tub. We paid him last year for zero production. This isn't a free ride. Take a pay cut or find another team to take free money from.

BossChief 02-25-2015 02:18 PM

As usual hootie aims to troll his way another Manning thread takeover.

Hootie 02-25-2015 02:28 PM

Oh really? Read the thread and tell me who brought up Peyton Manning.

Absolutely let DeVito go. Let Fasano follow him out the door as well.

RealSNR 02-25-2015 02:49 PM

I'm not against cutting DeVito, but some people are acting like we're cutting Eric Hicks or some other awful piece of shit.

DeVito was pretty good in 2013 then got injured. You should all be nicer to him.

Yeah....but I don't think he's worth $5 million.

I think he was worth that his first year with us, then he got injured. Now he's not worth it.

So yeah, it makes sense to cut him, especially with the depth we have at DE right now.

First mention of Manning (or the QB position) was made by some poster named Hootie 2.0. :hmmm:

While Hootie's overly dramatic Jan Brady response is predictable, he wasn't the first to allude to Manning.

I love how he's willing to join FA. Hey Mikey, you don't really have a choice.
