My friend works with the Children's Hospital people. The whole David Wain/Ken Marino group. I've met Ken and Paul Rudd. Oh - and David Koechner, but that because our families know each other.

He's an MU guy, which I'll forgive. Really, really nice. He got me tickets to his show once, and this unknown comic named Zac Galifinakis was opening. That was a trip.

The comedy people I am more in touch with are SNL people, honestly. I was at the Groundlings for a long time, so you just end up becoming friends with people who go on to be really successful.

One of my friends is about to blow up. It's pretty cool to watch.

Never met Erica, actually. But yeah, that guy is great. I think he's getting funnier as time goes on. Burning Love is hilarious.

Thankfully, the wife and I aren't at preschool time yet. That train's on the track though, and you know it isn't slowing down. LA preschool is insane, man.

Speaking of which, did I hear right? Taran Killam married ****ING Cobie Smulders?!?!?!

Weirdest connection since David Cross and Amber Tamblyn.

EDIT: Looking it up, looks like they've been an item for a while, as in he's the reason Cobie had to act with loose blouses and big handbags a few years back.

We really LOVE our preschool. They don't advertise and it's word of mouth only. Very involved parents, which is awesome.

True Story:

My daughter completed her first week of preschool last year and the following Saturday, we were hanging in her playroom. Out of the blue, she says this:

Daughter: Daddy?
Me: Yes, baby?
Daughter: you never say **** or shit, right?
Me: That's right, Baby. Who told you that?

I'll give you one guess who's kid told her that. :D

LMAO

Gandolfini came out with us afterwards, and I just kind of let them be alone, so I drank with some other people. The waitress came by dropping off drinks:

"Manhattan on the rocks?"
"oh, I didn't order this, but I'll take another please."
"Mr. Gandolfini sent this over."
"Uh...that's the coolest ****ing thing anyone has ever said to me. Thanks."

Toast to Gandolfini.

Waitress comes back.

"Can I get another Manhattan on my tab?"
"Mr. Gandolfini wants to buy it."
"Sure. that's... sure. No problem."

End of night.

"Can I get my tab?"
"Mr. Gandolfini would like to take care of the bill."

Girl next to me:

"Can I get my tab, too?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Gandolfini would like to take care of the entire table's bill."

Eight people. Dinner. Five hours of drinking.

Gandolfini, y'all. Gandolfini.

I've actually met a ton of people, because I worked at a studio for a long time, and my wife is an actress. Jon Hamm got drunk at my house. That was fun.

Nice :thumb:

My Dad resembled Gandolfini quite a bit and he hung out with "those" guys his whole life-he is deceased now but loved that life

ROFL ROFL - if you had ANY IDEA how happy it makes me that that is how you know him.

EDIT

Taran - SNL cast member, also plays [in perhaps my favorite role of the past year] the glee club instructor on Community, that's a big parody of Glee.

Cobie - HIMYM

Amber - Joan of Arcadia, The Unusuals, House.

David - Mr. Show, Arrested Dev, . . . err, Chipmunk Movie, Squeakuel etc.

He allegedly hated the experience, but loved the money. Further his 'alt-comedy, Occupy before occupy was a thing, rage against THE MAN!!' schtick took a hit, first when he took the job, then when he defended taking the job so he could buy a nice house he wanted.

Then there was the hilarious twitter spat with Patton Oswalt 'Brian Posehn and I read that part and threw the script across the room in disgust. . . guess David caught it.'

Thanks BL. Only one of those I've seen is SNL (rarely). Of course I've heard of Glee but not seen it.
Oh yeah, Arrested Development. The Bluths. Hilarious show. I've seen re-runs. Guess I'm not up on things. About the only TV I watch regularly besides kids' shows are HBO series, Dr. Who, and NatGeo/History Channel type stuff.

Oh, and lately I'm DVRing a whole lot of Palladia live performances, that channel is the goods.

I can't think of any that I met. Reggie Jackson is one but I was so young I don't really count it. I have an NFL player that follows me on twitter and he'll tweet at me or retweet every so often. I've never met Jay Mohr or the Sklar Brothers in person, but they know who I am because they've read my jokes on the radio dozens of times, and they'll retweet me once in a while.

Too many to list as I work for a movie studio but the biggest is Clint Eastwood/Tom Cruise, met those guys several times.

Here's a funny one. Went to the head of the studio's office and waited outside for Sean Penn to come out. I needed to give him a piece of art we'd done for Gangster Squad and not let the (soon to be ousted) CEO see me do it.

So I wait outside and when he comes out I go kinda quietly "Hey Sean...this is for you to approve"

He doesn't recognize me or know what's going on and goes "HOLY SHIT AM I BEING SERVED??"

I'm like, uh no, I work on Gangster Squad just open it later. As I'm walking away he yells "OKAY BUT I BETTER NOT BE BEING F-ING SERVED!!"

It's the only one I would say will stick with me. Dad took me up to him and he took the time to chat with me about who was my favorite player, how many Chiefs games I'd watched, about five minutes of quality one on one conversation. After my Dad shook his hand and thanked him for his time. He passed away eight months after, I consider it an honor I got to meet him.

I chatted with Donald Trump on Saturday.

Other than that most of the "celebrities" I have met are politicians and I don't think they really count.
