As a Mizzou fan, I’m torn on this result:

On the one hand, Kansas was a rival for so many years, but the ‘hatred’ was only due to that.

On the other hand, Texas is the big pile of shit that ultimately ruined the Big 12 conference when it came to us, moved the Big 12 headquarters from KC to Texas, caused Nebraska, Colorado and Mizzou to leave cause we got fed up with their bullshit . . . . . . .

You know what? I’m not torn. **** Texas. Glad KU won the game. Go Kansas! (Literally the only time you will ever see me post that)

Kansas may have once been our hated rival, but Texas is pure ****ing evil. **** everything Longhorn forever and ever . . . . . .

Texas just amazes me. Here is a program that should automatically have dibs on all the top recruits in a massive state where high school football is practically a religion. The deck should be totally stacked in their favor always. Yet they just suck. Year after year after year.

Never has a program done so little with so much.

Naw, Mac was an outstanding recruiter. Vince Young was one such recruit. However, an argument easily could be made, that with all the talent he had, Mac should have won more than one national championship.

Texas was stupid enough to think they were going to land Nick Saban or Urban Meyer. It's why they keep doing this stupid cycle.

It's a no brainer with the new rules. In the 2nd OT it's a two point conversion try. At the end of the first OT, the 2nd team to score a TD should always try for two as they know the other team, essentially, missed theirs.

We technically did not burn JDs redshirt last night. He just can't play again the remainder of the season if we want to keep the redshirt on him. Remains to be seen what Coach L will do, but after last night, I'm not sure you can sit him. Even one more win is a huge boost for recruiting, team morale, etc going into the offseason. TCU at home should be a win if the same KU team that played OU/UT shows up.

I mean… the whole team looks like they’re on the sauce right now.

First time they’ve lost five in a row since the Eisenhower administration. Last week a player secretly records a coach ripping them a new one on the bus and the game after they lose to a team that hadn’t won a conference game on the road since the W. Administration. By all accounts, there is zero buy-in with the new staff since the change - and even Sark after the game said “he doesn’t know” if the players have tuned him out.

YIKES.

I didn't hear it in the press conference, but it is a pretty good listen. At about 6:50 he talks about how nobody wants to have their work ethic questioned. I've always wondered what a coach can say in a situation like that. By this point in the season the one day at a time/get better every day has to be wearing thin.

Unfortunately the only place I could find it is the star, but it isn't a complete waste of time.

Imon Yourside 11-14-2021 12:33 PM

Fun going back through watching the replies in this thread, all the ups and downs. I was ready to give up and called them a bunch of losers under my breath just in time to see the beautiful 2 point conversion. :)

lol the last time we won a road big 12 game, W was still president (the 2008 elections hadn't happened yet) and the coach who won it was Mangino

Hoping Leiplold can turn it around into a somewhat decent team.

Is 5-7 wins a year with a chance at a bowl game and the occasional lightning in a bottle year too much to ask? Because for the last 10 years it's felt like that standard is fools gold.

No. If we had something approaching a .500 football team regularly I think everyone and their mother would sign off on that in a second. I just want to be able to watch KU football and have some hope going into most games.

We've just hired poorly over and over. Maybe we got it right and we can get that fool's gold we've been after.

Hell I'd just be happy with a reason to go to Lawrence before basketball season starts but I'd be very happy with 5-7 wins and a bowl game once every few years

The min standard should be 6-8 wins and a bowl game every year. We’re not going to be football royalty. But we could enjoy the seasons for what they are and enjoy bowl victories.

Sounds exactly like NU. NU and UT killed the partial qualifiers in the league.
In turn, that helped kill JUCO recruiting for teams like KSU/KU. The only time NU didn't lay down with the dogs was when the Longhorn Network was proposed. It was then NU cried about UT being unfair to the rest of the Big XII.

And also, cause you couldn't beat them. Ever. At anything.

Presidents care too much about academics when it comes to football.

As one Illinois fans once said, "Who cares if you let 60 academically sub par players in? Your academic reputation won't suffer."
