Nah. He is a career minor leaguer only playing in the majors because of Sale's injury.

Don't worry. We will turn him into a Cy Young candidate.

Carrol is from Liberty and played for Missouri State. Wish him luck any other time but tonight.

Any HRs he gives up tonight may be the first HRs he's even seen hit by the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Pretty much.

The Bad news... Detroit has won 6 straight (all on the road). And has won 15 of their last 18 games. They have the best record in all of baseball and are statistically the second best (behind a mercurial hot Oakland).

If Detroit stays form, the only hope is that we snag that last Wild Card spot.

We aren't catching Detroit.

The 2011 Red Sox lost 20 of 27 games in September which included losing the last game of the regular season that eliminated them from post season play. And, in that last game of the season, they were one out away from a 3-2 victory that would have put them in the playoffs. The Tigers need to have a losing streak.

Not to rain on your parade but it's not happening. I'd wager anything on that.

Obviously, you're a pessimist. :-) Plus, I have bar tabs riding on a bet that the Royals will have a better record than the Tigers at the end of the regular season.

Why put money up when the outcome is guaranteed?

I gotta have faith. The Tiger's 14-4 road record is an aberration. I believe they'll come back to earth eventually.
