Rousey never tried to seriously grapple, ever. She had plenty of chances to resort to her hip toss into a submission, but a lot of people have criticized her for not being a complete fighter. She wanted to prove she was a complete fighter, but she is not.

I figured that Ronda would try to stand and throw in the first round, realize it was a mistake and then sell out for the takedown in the 2nd and win. Holm tore her apart.

Holm is easy to beat, this title is now way up in the air. Hell, Tate might now become the champ now that ms. one-dimensional arm bar is just a contender.

She never went to plan B. Standing and trading with Holm did not work in Round 1. Ronda is not a kicckboxer, it shouldn't have been a surprise, but Ronda stubbornly wanted to out-strike Holm, and she got her head kicked into senselessness.
