That video was the first I've seen of the fight and wow. Ronda did not put on a very good show at all. Those punches really ****ed her up.

She looked a bit out of shape.

The next Holm vs Rousey is going to be a huge draw. Probably one of the biggest ever.

Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn had a really good night. They also trained Kyle Noke.

I assume its going to be UFC 200. They were planning to stack up that card.

Which CP'er is this? Lucky bastard!

Remember the guy who won $2.5 million with a World Series bet on the Royals? Remember when most folks called him crazy when he said he was going to bet big on Holly Holm?

Well, he just added nearly a quarter-million dollars to his ledger.......

People who think UFC is a better sport than boxing are like people who think the And 1 Mixtape Tour is superior to the NBA or Arena football is superior to the NFL. The overall lack of skill makes for more highlight reel material. If you don't understand the sport of boxing enough to appreciate the strategy, footwork, etc., then MMA is going to be more attractive to you because the fighters constantly make mistakes that allow their opponents to smash their faces in. You get a lot more violence that way.

Boxing looks more like a game than a fight. MMA also has to outlaw some things (biting, gouging, etc), but MMA more closely resembles a fight, and Boxing is dying out in popularity. I have no interest in seeing something that is so severely limited as boxing with those enormous pillows on their fists. It is also boxing that is simpler and less complicated, not MMA, they don't even allow you to attack the lead leg with leg kicks. Your analogy of comparing Arena Football to the NFL makes more sense in the reverse.

A few interesting facts:

UFC 193 barely broke the attendance record (56,214, previous record 55,724), by 490 tickets.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk blew away the record for most significant strikes in a championship fight, and she is #2 overall for all UFC fights. (220 strikes, #1 is Nate Diaz with 238 at UFC 141)

Apparently the Vegas sportsbooks got crushed badly. They lost all the money they made from College Football that day. The only sportsbook that did OK was the golden nugget, after they decided to accept a few very large bets on Rousey.

This should be interesting. Joe Rogan is gonna release a podcast episode tomorrow with Dana White, chatting on the flight home.
