Can't wait to watch the Royals score three runs in the next two games.

This is what ownership needs to get:

We aren't a hitting coach or even a manager away from becoming good. It's a systemic failure from scouting to drafting to development to coaching to management to on-field play.

Unfortunately, the last 8 years will most likely add up to nothing, and an organizational reset button must be pushed.

But a word of caution goes with this as well. Zaidi looks like a great candidate, and I think there are others as well. But as we saw with the Chiefs, replicating another team's "way" or "methods" doesn't necessarily guarantee success, either.

Winning 4/6 on the road against good teams was nice, but I need to see a lot more before I buy into this stuff.

Outstanding post. Couldn't agree more.

You need to win maybe a couple more than that but for the most part that is pretty close, that would put you at a 88 win season.

Over a full season of 162 games, win half of the games on the road, that's 40. Win 2/3 of the home games, that's 53-54 depending how you round. That's 93 -94 wins for the season.

Minus the 3 games we lost to the Houston Astros at the K.

Agreed. From what I can tell that's one of the big issues with this regime, with Dayton continuing to pull on and refer to how they did it with the Braves, hiring people who worked with the Braves and Cox, etc. Obviously what the Braves did was not replicated here in any way, shape, or form...

Ironically the Braves way came from the Royals Way. Just haven't had that cycle circle back around.

Royals essentially need to find their Carl/Marty combo.

I think what's left out of the "Braves way" equation is that the Braves didn't just rely on young kids from their system. Yes, there were a lot of those.

But the Braves also signed Sid Bream and Terry Pendleton as free agents to help supplement the young position talent. They brought in John Smoltz via a very shrewd (and lucky - was done before Schuerholz got there) trade. And they made good acquisitions/signings as time went on (Fred McGriff... Greg Maddux... etc).
