I'm sure somewhere in Quinn's contract there is a stipulation that says he's not allowed, under any circumstance, to play, act or talk like a potential starting QB. |

Don't give me this "if they were good they wouldn't be backups bullsh*t", because if that were true then Cassel would be sitting at home on his couch. Yet our GM is a dumb enough talent evaluator that he gave him a gazillion dollars and is still starting him. The starting QB is as much about politics than it is skill. 16 teams in the league wanted Manning just so the franchise would make money off his name and sell tickets; not because they believe he is healthy and going back to the super bowl. |

I have no problem saying Cassel is the starter, but if Quinn or Stanzi is really throwing and playing better then him, i would HOPE the Coaches would do the right thing and give the number 1 spot to the guy who deserves it.
I just refuse to beleive that Pioli see's Cassel as a qb that can take them to the next level. Cassel has proven time and time again, to be an average qb at BEST. And thats giving him a bit to much credit. |

It's nice he has a long cock
but why is it upside down |
Yeah, Pioli loves Cassel too much; but, let's face it, Cassel IS the starter going into training camp. He doesn't want to create false expectations for BQ coming in. We don't need a QB controversy yet. Let preseason games decide whether Stanzi, BQ, or the QB we draft this year outplays Cassel. If he does, then we'll see what happens.
Just so you know, the odds are that Cassel is going to have a good 2012 (for him). Expect him to play like he did in 2010 as JC and Moeaki return, he has a real RT, Hillis and Boss to help. As much as CP hates Mattie, I'm thinking he's going to surprise a lot of Chiefs fans by playing above average (like Alex Smith did). He won't be great, but he will become a solid system QB this coming year. Sadly, that means that Pioli will feel it less necessary to find a franchise QB next year, but who knows? |
