Not saying you won’t be proved correct, but you’re giving them a massive benefit of the doubt before you’ve even seen results. As of today it’s pretty clear we’ve got a skinflint owner. Maybe he will make it work |

Cleve got Naylor and Quantrill out of that steal. Wish we could make good trades. I guess I’ll look FW to a newer and improved bullpen this year. Should be exciting
|
makes sense to have a supersized bullpen with pitch counts and such
especially with our starters |

Royals discussing other trades But wait, there might be more movement coming from the Royals, who have now dealt Mondesi and outfielder Michael A. Taylor in the past 24 hours. According to ESPN, the Royals have also discussed trades that involve utility player Hunter Dozier and infielder Nicky Lopez. Dozier, a 31-year-old potentially signed through the 2025 season, has failed to make good on what appeared to be a breakout season in 2019. He's posted an 89 OPS+ over the last three years while bouncing around the corner positions. Lopez, 27, is under team control through the 2025 season. He too failed to build upon what was a banner season in 2021. His OPS+ dipped from 104 to 58. The Royals have a glut of young position players either in the majors or on the way, making them an obvious candidate to ship out at least one more hitter between now and Opening Day. |
No team wants Hunter Dozier.

I think this front office looks at Lopez and Maikel Garcia and sees, at worst, equivalency. So they're willing to move the older player for what they can get. Transactonal. It's what we've been wanting to see... |

They’ll get their new park but in the event they don’t, I doubt they move. They’ll just run a skeleton crew out onto the field every year, Oakland style

Where would they go. Vegas was the Boogeyman for quite a while but the As already seem to have plans set in motion to go there.

Picollo on MLB Network today. Flat out says they're looking toward 2024 which isn't going to be received well but it's definitely a change from how the Royals usually talk.

Now if you tell me its going to be a couple years then I'm fine checking back with you then, especially being out of market. |

I love how they are doing this. That dip shit Dayton Moore would have signed a couple of shitty vets to block our young players and would be out here telling everyone that he expects to be very competitive this year and he would legit believe it.

Yep. The young guys are going to get their shot this year, and I love that.

I did the opening day plus 2 pack. Never been to an opening day, I’m still pretty excited about the kids.

If so, will be interesting to see how prospects perform with immediate expectations from the prior regime. Coddling prospects and wasting several years of service time to "develop" at the Major League level had grown quite tiresome. |

Demolition starts in this Kansas City neighborhood as Royals push for downtown stadium
BY KEVIN HARDY JANUARY 27, 2023 5:00 AM Kansas City has issued demolition permits for several buildings in the East Village, one of the top sites under consideration for a new downtown baseball stadium. Crews have already begun tearing down the former Wiltshire Apartments building, a four-story brick structure at 10th and Holmes streets. Earlier this month, the city also issued pre-demolition permits for several other buildings in the East Village: the Della Lamb building at 1000 Charlotte St., the former Blackstone Hotel at 817 Cherry St. and a parking garage at 815 Cherry St. The moves are the most visible sign in years of impending change for the long overlooked area of downtown — and underscore the belief of many that the neighborhood is the Kansas City Royals’ top choice for a new stadium. “If I really had to make a bet and say to everybody today where that new stadium is being proposed, I am going with the East Village,” said Chris Stritzel, a developer who noticed the demolition of the Wiltshire building while walking around the area this week. Read more: https://amp.kansascity.com/news/loca...271659117.html |
Anyone paying attention would know that the stadium is going in East Village and has been since the beginning of the discussion. The general public will lightly follow the press releases that different sites are being considered but this thing has been decided since Sherman bought the team. And I'm good with it...just saying.
