Yea but did you see the hand off? Cassel didn't get to hand the ball off to Jamaal this year. I've always said he is one of the best handoff QBs in the league. You don't just lead the league in rushing with out a QB handing the ball off. That's what he did with Jamaal Charles.

This is going to be a long season.

I think we will be fine this season as long as one of two things happens:

1) Charles is healthy, and regains 90-95% of what he was before his injury at least.

2) Peyton Hillis can average 4+ yards per carry this season, and be either the short yardage / change up running back if Charles is healthy or carry the full load if Charles for some reason doesn't come back healthy / able.

I think with this type of situation, and the defense we have we should be able to seriously compete for a pretty strong division.

To be clear, I would be THRILLED if Matt Cassel turned things around and became what Pioli sees in him.

I just think it's beyond foolish to put all the eggs in that basket.

We have all made decisions we wish we could take back, but at one point we pull the plug on those bad choices and move on.

I don't think Pioli is far off from that point, but he isn't there yet.
