I'd take Bloom over Picollo all day long and twice on Sunday.

Bloom was expected to win and build the farm system at the same time, ala Andrew Friedman in LA. He built the farm system back up but the Red Sox didn't win other than a surprise 2021 showing. I thought many of his big league moves were head scratchers. I always thought their roster was underwhelming for a big market franchise with their type of resources. |

He rebuilt a minor league system in just a couple of years that was completely gutted by Dembrowski. |

Velazquez with an absolute bomb. Hit it over the batter's eye in center. The guy has monster power.

I have some good news. Despite the Cole Ragans looking like Rick Ankiel for 3 pitches in a row he is rolling tonight. He hasn't forgot to pitch after all!

Royals just need to play the Astros and White Sox all year lol
|
I stand corrected
|
That would be 4 straight wins
|
Logan Porter making most of his opportunity. Pratto actually got through 4 ABs without a K.

Nelson Velazquez just hit his 11th home run in his 31st game as a Royal.

Royals found some power on the Velazquez

Kowar has been good for several appearances. They moved him to the middle of the rubber and tweaked the release after the bad west coast trip. Also the work they've done with MacArthur may be paying off.

Back when MLB had expanded 40-man rosters in September, I would say there were some late season performances that were questionable, but not in 2023. |

Also Tampa is building a new stadium, so now Sherman does hold all of the cards as far as getting a new stadium. If he doesn't get one I would expect him to try and use Montreal or Nashville to get that new stadium.

The Padres shit the bed but, Damn, that would have been a fun team to watch this season...Its only money...cant take it with you

LMAO Mike Sweeney making fun of Brady Anderson for steroids on the broadcast.

Let me be a little more specific. I am afraid that Ragans will follow the same Royals career arc as Brad Keller in that he was acquired with low expectations, he showed some success, fans got excited that KC "fixed" him, believed we had a true #1 starter, he then did not maintain those expectations, he then gets hurt/flames out... the end. As I said, it would be nice to be wrong, and perhaps I shouldn't be as pessimistic with the coaching changes in the organization. However... Royals. We can revisit this in 2-3 years. |

I'd like to see him come back as a reliever, and perhaps even end things with the Royals on a more positive note with hopefully a much improved club. |

Ontiveros and Goldberg getting "promoted" upwards. OK. Whatever. Hopefully Bridges brings some fresh approaches that pay off. |
All of these meaningless wins have given the A's highest chance of the #1 overall pick. Not that it matters, the Royals will pick like 7th or 8th and pick a high school catcher.

Looking ahead, it looks like it it could be one of the better drafts with several dynamite players filling out the "top five". Royals still odds-wise looking at the 2 pick. Last time we drafted that high, we got BWjr, and he's quickly turning into a stud only four years later. It's not all Care Bears, roses and rainbows, but it we can draft another potential all-star next Summer, and get our shit together this offseason, as bad as things look now, I could see a significant turnaround next year. |

I think it's definitely a longshot, but I'd never try to pretend to ever know what's going on in Greinke's head. As you said, he did come back to this season of shit, so who knows? It's pretty meaningless, but I would just really like to see him get his 3000th K in a Royals uniform. We haven't seen very many milestones like that come out of this organization. I'm probably delusional, but I think with the offensive parts we currently have, and a returning, healthy Vinnie, and then add in some even competent pitching, and we're probably 20+ wins better. It would be fun to see Greinke on that type of team in 2024, even if they are realistically a year or two away from being a legit playoff contender. |
