We stil have a crucial need at QB...

I don't think we need to spend another first rounder on a WR. We did that with Bowe and Baldwin, and we picked up Breaston last year. Of course, Blackmon would be a steal in that spot, and he would keep with the theme, so I'm open to him if he slips.

Agreed, watch the tape. Only the huge drop off from Luck/RG3 even puts this guy in the discussion for the first round.

NJChiefsFan 03-18-2012 07:20 PM

I am all for drafting to push or find great players behind Lewis and Belcher. Its spending money in FA to replace them that bothers me. I would rather spend it on starter or depth elsewhere. Of course that was also when I was pretending that Manning would atleast interview with us.

How do you know?

Hog's Gone Fishin 03-19-2012 02:59 AM

At #11 you need to draft someone that will start day 1. It will be a defensive player. I think it will be Poe.

What if Decastro is still there? That's a tough one.

We'd rush for 2k and Casshole would even have enough time to complete a deep pass...

He'd have the time, just not the ability.

DeCastro would solidify the line for years to come, and safety depth would be helpful as well.

But at least for today, I'm hoping for Poe.

Don't read the scouting reports...what him on video. He is invisible out there. Seriously, let your own eyes decide. There is a long thread on the CP Draft room on Poe with a link. Watch the video and then come back and tell us why you'd waste the 11th pick in the draft on that slug?

People who haven't actually seen him need to STFU!

These Stats are scary:
Dontari Poe DT Memphis - 2011 season - 22 total tackles, 1 sack, 0 forced fumbles, 0 interceptions.

Now, put them against the same stats from Nadamukong Suh's Senior 2009 season at Nebraska:

Nadamukong Suh - 2009 season - 85 total tackles, 12 Sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception.

Poe should have dominated considering the weak competition he played against.

to me this guy has tons of talent but he's lazy and takes too many plays off.

lostcause 03-19-2012 08:13 AM

Poe looks like he has bust written all over him. It sucks that there aren't any legit nts worth taking in the top ten.

Sofa King 03-19-2012 08:15 AM

Poe doesn't have enough interceptions.

Mr. Arrowhead 03-19-2012 08:15 AM

I just get the feeling that we should stay far away from Poe, especially in the 1st round

Exactly right! Poe is described as raw...I describe him as a LAZY POS. Your NG has to have a motor...Poe completely lacks a motor. What his video...it's awful. He runs into blocks and stick like glue.

Why are we even wasting bandwidth on this slug? Seriously guys...there are many other better options.

Chiefs=Champions 03-19-2012 08:22 AM

The views of Poe on this board are way too harsh. Chiefs fans love to pick apart qbs and nts. Having said that i would be upset if we took him at 11..

RealSNR 03-19-2012 08:28 AM

I posted this in another thread:

Brock Lesnar would have utterly dominated an NFL combine had he entered the NFL immediately out of college.

Remember when Minnesota had him for an offseason? He didn't even make the first round of cuts.

I realize Lesnar didn't make it in the NFL for far different reasons than Poe would, but the point still stands. People can fall in love with a fatty's awesome strength, speed, cock length, etc. but that doesn't mean shit if he can't do it on the field. If I'm going to fall in love with a guy's combine performance, he has to have shown me flashes of using that brilliance to the best of his ability. More than just few times too. I've seen jack poop out of Poe at Memphis against sucky competition.

Take your Poe desires and stick them up Elway's ass. He's not worth it.

I just heard Winston on a Houston radio station saying he tried a burnt ends sandwich somewhere and it was awesome.
Also said he was under the impression KC was a rust belt town, but realized that was wrong once he got to town.

What does being a rust belt town imply? (I'm assuming it has more than just rusty cars from the winter road salt).

It implies KC is the same as Cleveland or Detroit.

If you're in a city like Buffalo it means closed down steel factories, usually. I don't know why he thought that about KC, though. He didn't really say. Maybe he just meant a poor economy. He said he thinks it's nice though now that he's there.

Chiefnj2 03-19-2012 09:17 AM

While the Chiefs were busy wooing Winston over BBQ, Chiefs fans used Winston’s Twitter handle (@EricWinston) as a recruiting tool.

“Oh man, I tell you what, that was something else,” Winston said. “My Twitter blew up obviously when I was released and got a lot of messages from a lot of people. I feel like the fans from Kansas City probably blew it up five times more than anyone else’s fan base.

“Every day, it was, ‘Come to Kansas City. Come to Kansas City,’ and then obviously when it was made known that I was in town, I had hundreds of mentions every day. To give you an idea of what that is, I usually have 50 or 75 mentions after a big game, and every day, just random mentions by all the fans, hundreds of them. I was really taken aback.”

When word broke that Winston was headed to Kansas City, hugs and cheers erupted at the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Westport. It was a celebration unparallel for the signing of an offensive lineman.

Chiefs fans, much like the team’s front office, viewed Winston as one of free agency’s biggest prizes.

“I told one of the interns on the way in to go to the facility, ‘These fans around here mean business. They’re blowing my Twitter up,’ and I loved it,” Winston said. “I thought it was really cool and I thought it was great that they were so into it and that they knew everything that was going on and they actually knew who I was and what they felt like I could do.
Very cool.

TheGuardian 03-19-2012 02:58 PM
