We moved to the Charleston SC area about five or so years ago-- Bill Murray is the owner or part owner of a few restaurants as well as the local minor league baseball team. Not uncommon to see him at a high school sporting event, hanging out with tour guides downtown, at the airport, etc. Chatted with him a few minutes before this picture was taken-- reserved that day; dry humor.
President Trump (then candidate) spoke at my place of work back in December 2015 at a rally. I shook his hand briefly and had a few words before he went out; in private he was nothing but complimentary and affable; "Beautiful place, beautiful place; we are so happy to be here. You must love it here. Beautiful.". About 90 seconds later on stage he was ripping into CNN or some writer, calling them a clown. Very much like a Goodfella. I mentioned years ago in this thread about hanging out with Rob Zombie and his wife for a night at their house. Not what I expected. |

My buddy, who was from there suggested a place, and off they went. We arrived at the same place, and the limo was there, but the bar was closed. Our car and the limo were the only two cars on the street. We all got out, and Robert stepped out when he saw it was just us and w had a short chat before he got back into the limo and drove off (I tried not to be a gushy fan, but I may not have succeeded). He was very cool about the whole thing. Quote:
That was "old face" Courtney Cox I'm sure if she was with Keaten. She was once hot. Morgan Fairchild one of my all time favorite celeb crushes! She hot in person? You met Elle the body? How hot and is she nice or a bitch? Did you like meeting "America's Sweetheart?" Wow Robert Plant and Chuck Berry! They would be in my Top 10 to meet for sure. I met Keaton and Courtney on the slopes of Crested Butte CO over 30 years ago. They were dating at the time. I met Keaton first on some run. Then a little later I ran (should say my brother and I) ran into both of them at the warming house (like a bar halfway up the mountain). I was surprised at how much shorter they looked in real life. Keaton was no taller than me. I got to shake their hands, and we had a short chat while waiting in line to order some food. Mcguire, Ozzie, and Willie I met while I was still working for the Sporting News Magazine at a work function (annual "Great St. Louis Athletes" dinner). All very cool people. Willie Magee was extremely humble and a gentleman. Elle I met because a buddy of mine was working for SI magazine. He calls me up one day and asks if I want to come down to FL and work for free. I was in the middle of trying to get a real job at the time and told him I was too busy to screw around. Then he said, "that's too bad, because I can get you on the set with Elle Macpherson." At the time I was her biggest fan. I bought plane tickets immediately and a week later I was doing gopher stuff for Elle. One of my jobs was holding a towel along with another person on the other side of her while she changed outfits. She was called "The Body" for a damn good reason. Jeanette Lee I met twice; once in STL about 30 years ago at an exhibition tournament. Beautiful and a true hustler. She was playing games $50/rack. I lost $150, but she likes to banter while she plays so we had a good conversation. Ten years ago I ran into her again here in PHX at another pool tournament. She remembered me and asked if I wanted to try to win my money back! I lost another $200 trying. Met Mike Massey at the same tourney with Jeanette; very nice guy. Played him a couple games as well. The Pearl I met in STL again about 30 years ago. He just walked into my pool hall with 3 or 4 other guys late one night. There's a long story with this one, but suffice it to say we played a few games and he liked to tell war stories. The Alis are/were very good friends of my good friend's daughter. I've spent two afternoons with Muhammed and Laila in my buddy's backyard. Muhammed is one of the coolest people I've ever met. Laila is, words don't do her justice, she's an incredible person. Sandra Bullock I met while I was working, going business-to-business trying to sell promotional marketing stuff on Wilshire blvd in LA. She was getting her nails done, and wasn't happy that I interrupted her nail time. She told me that what I was doing wasn't legal (I had a permit, so it was), and that I should just leave. I recognized her, but she seemed like she was in a hurry and not in the mood for a fan, so I simply said, "nice to meet you Ms. Bullock. I like your movies." She just waved her hand at me and I left. Morgan Fairchild I met at Sky Harbor Airport here in PHX about 8 or 9 years ago. She was waiting for her luggage at the carousel just like a regular person. She is tiny; maybe 5' 2" at the most. Also still very beautiful. We had a short chat, and she told me she was there to do play and that I should come. John Cusak I met in college. One of his good friends went to the same school and one day he came for a visit. My buddies and I were playing some pick-up basketball in what was known as the Swamp behind the dorms and up walks John Cusak. He's short, about 5' 8" and skinny as a rail. He was also a big time hacker. Fouled the crap out of me. Neil and Derrick I met purely by chance in a bar in KC about two years before Derrick passed. Yeager and Hoover I met at airshows, Yeager twice. Both are men among men. They can come off as arrogant, but then if anyone could get away with it, it'd be those guys. Duke and Willie I met in STL in a bar more than 25 years ago. They were tying one on, and I have no idea why they were there, but once I said I was a pilot and bought them a round, we had a grand time. They told me so many great stories I don't remember them all. Duke Cunningham and Willie Irish Driscoll were the only two U.S. fighter aces to come out of the Vietnam War. Chuck Berry I met about 26 years ago in STL. Back then Chuck used to show up at blues bars around town and just play. One night I was at a place near the river front and in walks Chuck Berry with his guitar and amp. After his first set, I walked over and introduced myself and he said, "can you get me a drink?" I think he thought I was working there. I went over to the bar and told the bartender that Mr. Berry wanted a drink, and he poured one which I took back to Chuck. At that point, the manager saw me and asked me what I was doing. I told him, "Chuck asked me for a drink, so I got him one." Mr. Berry figured out was going on at that moment and he just laughed and shook my hand. |
Just ran into Randy Johnson, "The Big Unit" while eating lunch at Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana here in Scottsdale. Dude is a tall bean pole. Only drank ice tea during lunch. With his wife.
I have a good chance of meeting Bill Russell this week as well since he is coming in 2-3 times a week. Barkley usually around too no one has seen him recently since his New Year's Eve party at the restaurant Living Room in the Shops at Gainey Ranch here in Scottsdale. With Spring Training underway, I expect to see some more celebs. |

Billy Corgan had Thanksgiving dinner with our family. I've also partied all night with Dabney Coleman and met Paul Rudd at the Lava Room in Westport before he was super famous. |
I have not led a very exciting life, lol.
My only claim to fame was meeting Clark Hunt in Seattle during the ‘18 season. It ruined me. I was in a fog the entire game, lol. I rode the elevator with Mark Donovan but didn’t realize it was him until getting out and seeing his Chiefs lapel pin. |

Pretty cool stuff. As a side note, same friend was just diagnosed with Stage 4 burkitt’s lymphoma, so if u have some extra room for a prayer, he could sure use it!

Ran into Will Shieldsa couple of times, back in the early 90's. Chatted a minute with him each time.
Tommy the Duke Morrison, just said hi. Jimmy from Jimmy Eat World. When I lived in Phoenix, I'd see him at bars always drinking a Heineken. Alice Cooper at a party in Scottsdale. He was eating macaroni salad out of a deli container. He was at the party with his daughter. Kitchen in the house was bigger than a couple of my apartments. Various Chiefs at autograph signings. Marcus Allen, Kimble Anders and a few others. Missed out on Lamar Hunt I was at a Chiefs game in San Diego in '97 maybe early '98 and he was in the stands chatting with someone. I said to my friend "I think that's Lamar Hunt!" He said nah it's not him he wouldn't be in the stands like that. 5 min later he's on the field talking to Chiefs players. Janelle Monaé meet and greet on her Co headlining tour with Bruno Mars. She's from the 'Dotte so I had to meet her. Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk |

Adam West George Lindsey (Goober) Carl Peterson because I knew his brother (and got to be in the luxury suite and go down to the sidelines and be with the entire team during a preseason game here against the Cardinals. I tried to hang around Thomas and Smith the most and listen to their commentary on the game). Shottenheimer was HC back then. There's been a few others but not that comes to mind at this point. |

His manager lived across the street from my aunt's (uncle's wife) sister in Chicago. They got to be friends and Billy would give their kids guitar lessons. He then became friends with my aunt and uncle when he came to KC for a 3-day lomi lomi massage treatment from my aunt before going on tour with Zwan. Which led to the following bizarre exchange: My mom: Do you know who Billy Corgan is? Me: Um, yeah My mom: Well apparently your uncle just took him to Buca di Bepo Me: ... So I guess he wanted to see what a normal midwestern Thanksgiving was like, as his family was fairly dysfunctional growing up. I think he just wanted to be a fly on the wall. But of course 6'4" bald Billy Corgan at your family's Thanksgiving is never going to just be a fly on the wall. I think it was pretty weird for everyone involved. Afterwards they took him to a party on the Plaza to watch the lights turn on and said he was pretty uncomfortable. |
Head East. Opened for them at the Mayfair music festival in St. Joe (Thanks Nzoner for the gig). Stole their BBQ. Good times.
Len Dawson Eric Warfield Tony Veland (former Donk, but also former Husker and coached the Omaha Beef for a few years) Tommy Frazier Tom Osbourne G.W. Bailey (Captain Harris, Police Academy) And probably a few others. |
Brett Michels - Poison (ok, maybe not met him but knew he was at the mall when we were teens and so we went in to see him. He was too busy talking to a young lady working there)
John Petrucci of the band, Dream Theater (met at a demo he did the day of a show in Minneapolis) Thomas Nicholas - actor in American Pie (met him at a friend's wedding reception) The latter 2 I do have pics. My band opened for Vince Neil's band in 2001 at a show in my city. Never met him, though I did see him out back while we were waiting to go on. |

Siamese Dream will never not be on my top 10 all time list, still listen to it all the time... read an interview a while back where he was a child music prodigy plucked from public school to attend some prestigious music academy at a very young age I think it’s pretty cool that he’s all into Cubs baseball and is always showing up at games, even happened across him singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame during the .7th inning stretch a few years ago All I could think was “yeah, your milieu is DEFINITELY rock” lol |
Yeah this was the Thanksgiving right after the Cubs blew the 3-1 lead and he had to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame in game 7 - literally seconds after the Marlins cleared the bases and the guy got thrown out at 3rd - basically ending the Cubs' hopes. So brutal.

I just saw Shannon Sharpe coming out of a bank near my work. I wasn't 100% sure it was him so I waved. When he said "What's up man?" I knew it was him.
I thought about telling him I enjoyed when he ethered Orlando Scandrick on his show - but I figured just let him walk to his car. |
I saw NBA Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy at the airport this week.
I have no idea who Calvin Murphy is, but he had an NBA Hall of Fame baseball cap on, and his name was embroidered on the back of it. So I looked him up. I guess it could have just been a guy with his hat, but I'm pretty sure it was him. |
I met Senator Lindsay Graham about a year and a half ago. He's much shorter than I thought with soft little hands. Spent maybe five minutes in his company and at least on that occasion he came off like a pompous dick.

My buddy sat next to the Dalai Lama on an international flight. Talked to him the whole way. It doesn't get much cooler than that. |
Saw Tyreek Hill on a Delta flight from KCI to Atlanta on Friday night. I'm getting my shoes and belt off in Security and my wife's like, "Honey, Tyreek Hill is right in front of us." Sure thing, black Hoodie with Cheetah and the number 10 on the back with short frosted hair and a red Nike backpack on. I didn't have the balls to bother him, he probably gets bugged by fans all the time, but they sat in the row ahead of us as we were right behind them in first class. I should've manned up but I didn't, I'm not that kind of fan. He was probably going down to see family or friends in the ATL anyways so I'm not going to interrupt that.
Other than that the only one that comes to mind that isn't a Chiefs player over the years is R. Lee Ermey in boot camp when I was 19 was pretty awesome. I guess he frequented MCRP in San Diego frequently and dropped by Hotel company to tell us about strength and guts. |

I met Chuck Stobb at Sho-Me baseball camp in Branson when I was 16. He was the pitching coach there and was famous for giving up the longest Home Run Mickey Mantle ever hit, LOL
Also met Bob Dole when I was a kid. My mother was his campaign manager at one time way back, when he was Kansas senator. |
Seems like more people here have met the "real" Bob Dole than the CP version.
I wonder what the numbers are. ROFL |
Not really a celebrity, but reading through the list and seeing Bill Patrick...
I was in LA for work several years ago and Pierre LeBrun, hockey analyst for ESPN and TSN, sat down at an outdoor fire pit with myself and some coworkers. Nice guy, was in town for a playoff series. We chatted about hockey a bit (coworkers couldn't care less).... conversation at one point was about cost of living in LA versus KC for us normal folks, and LeBrun had mentioned the cost of living in Toronto and very matter-of-fact throws out the humble brag of "well, I live in a $2 million house in the Toronto suburbs", like it had any relevance at all to the discussion. Baker Mayfield stayed at a hotel I once worked at with his wife. Dude looks bigger in person, had to be easily 6'1. Very humble and down to earth. Acted like a random person. He seems cocky and annoyed as hell on tv giving interviews but from my experience was the opposite.

Went to a small Christmas get together at Rob Zombie’s house— my wife and Sherrie Moon (Skurkis) grew up together. Talked movies and played air hockey for hours with him. Totally chill, and really interesting person who can discuss a wide array of topics.
Hung out with Tito Ortiz one weekend— our Athletic Trainer was his trainer for nine years, and he came in town for a visit. This was when he was still married to Jenna. He was really nice and I fully expected him to be a douche. He’s also a got damn mutant with hands like bear paws, and would often cut 25 pounds in 48 hours for a fight. George Brett as a 10 year old; my best friend’s older sister dated him for a little while. Herschel Walker— my sister used to work for IMG and was his agent. Reserved and genuine guy; very conscientious. Bumped into Willie Wilson down in Arizona at a spring training game— gregarious and generous with his time. Candidate Donald Trump in 2015 when he gave a speech where I worked. Senator Lindsay Graham— he was a preoccupied dick. |

Not really special since this is Chiefs Planet, but I just want to say how cool it was that Lamar Hunt used to chill with the fans during training camp. He was around fans on so many other occasions, too, but I specifically remember this as a kid going to River Falls for training camp. People would be sitting around between practice sessions in folding chairs and he'd bring his own chair and have a seat right next to them.

Saw Jerry Stiller (Ben's dad) at the Radisson in Branson once. Nobody else seemed to know who he was, and when I spotted him and started to approach him he just gave me the finger in front of the lips "shhh" gesture. He later tracked me down and thanked me for not making a big deal about it.
I smoked a joint with the guys from 311 on their tour bus after a show at the original Regency Showcase in the late 90's/early 2000's before they made it big. Cool dudes except for the "rapper" one, major douchebag and was busy trying to **** an underage girl who was there. Went to high school with a pro boxer, but he was always a stuck-up twat and lost every fight against anyone I've actually heard of so I dont consider him a celebrity. |

I met Mr. T at Walmart in Liberty... He was in KC to do a promotional thing for Walmart and hadn’t been to one , ours was new back then so they sent him to Liberty...
The wife and I were walking with our cart and Mr T and his wife walked right by us and I said to my wife, “That was Mr T!!” She said I was dumb and and why would Mr T be at a Walmart in Liberty Mo... I was sort of doubting what I saw until a couple of workers were talking about how he asked where the shampoo was! I immediately imagined him saying “Hey fool, where’s the shampoo??” I was on a mission to meet him after hearing that and my daughter and I ran right into him exiting the candy section... Long story short.. he couldn’t have been nicer, taking time to talk to me and my 8 yr old daughter... That was before phones with good cameras and I have always regretted not getting a disposable camera and taking a picture with him.. |
