DBowe Status

So if the Chiefs can't work out a long term deal with Bowe sometime before week 6, do the Chiefs trade him? I think it's highly unlikely, but it wouldn't surprise me. Especially if the Chiefs can get someone they deem close to Bowe's talent under $9.5M in FA or the Draft. And they do covet draft picks. It's not far-fetched to consider that the Chiefs might want to work a deal with Albert and Dorsey this year. Personally, I hope they find a way to lock Bowe up long term. Unless of course, they can get someone to grossly overpay.

I can't imagine him holding out that far.

They won't trade Bowe. Cassel would start scraping the bottom of the statistical rankings.

As opposed to?

I'm starting to sense that you don't care for Cassel. :D

Let me rephrase: Any chance of Cassel licking the bootstraps of the top half of the NFL's quarterbacks would cease to exist.

Bowe and the chiefs have to july 15 to work out a long term deal. If they cant he plays 2012 under a 1 year deal.

Good point. They still have the right to trade him, up until week six, is that correct? A #1 WR goes down for a team that considers itself a contender & Bowe could fetch a lofty price.

I think seeing how Baldwin develops could effect the possibility of trading Bowe.

If he looks like he could be a # 1, maybe it's possible. Maybe.

If not, no way.

Go watch the 2nd half of the denver game let me know if you still wanna trade him.

InChiefsHeaven 03-20-2012 11:16 AM

Goddamit, we better just sign Bowe. Develop your drafted players for craps sake. Geeez...

RustShack 03-20-2012 11:18 AM

No, they would continue to work out a deal during the season and through next offseason. If we have to, we slap him again with the tag.

So are we already not a contender? :spock:
