I'd say Taco was wrong, wouldn't you?

There's no ****ing way the Broncos are winning a Super Bowl anytime soon. With Pioli...a playoff win is in our near future.

StcChief 03-11-2009 07:26 PM

TJ and the homer hat is strong.....

Rausch 03-11-2009 07:27 PM

A bit premature, don't you think?...

Taco stuck his neck out there, so I'll do the same.

Hog's Gone Fishin 03-11-2009 07:31 PM

The Broncos have a mediocre QB in Cutler. They are doomed to 8-8 for years to come. This is going to be the era of Chiefs domination shortly. The GOOD is on the way!

TJ's been spewing the same trash for years. He once also proclaimed that Jake Plummer would lead the DONX to the Super Bowl and become league MVP...LMAO

Psssst. Brad, TJ's boast was from 2006. ;)

Mile High Mania 03-12-2009 04:14 AM

Neither of our teams has done much in a decade... so, uhhh... all the fan smack talk needs to be backed up by one of our teams soon.

This

As much as I am reveling around the fact we got Pioli I am not sold on Haley right now.

My optimism for this coming season is low because there are WAY too many unknowns. Might I be worrying too much? Maybe.

But the fact is this team was 2-14 last season so I am not looking for a direct lightning strike this season. A nice subtle building storm that turns into a monsoon in the next few years would suffice though.

The trash talk is WAAAAAY to premature IMHO. TJ is a donk homer as GoChiefs is to the Chiefs so a "Grain of Salt" is needed here.

not to mention that he claimed that Shanny had a job for life and Bowlen would never fire him:deevee:

Hire Bill Self and put him in charge of rebuilding.

If those are recent quotes, he is dumber than I thought.

Mile High Mania 03-12-2009 06:15 PM

Heh... well, congrats I guess on going back 3 years and nearly 3 months to find material for a thread.

I do like how you say a playoff win is "in your near future"... that's a good way to protect a claim, plus KC is due ... eventually.

Hammock Parties 03-12-2009 06:16 PM

We'll win a playoff game within 4 years. How's that?

Buck 03-12-2009 06:19 PM

Even though these quotes are 3+ years old, I do believe the Chiefs will win a playoff game before the Broncos win a Championship.

Mile High Mania 03-12-2009 06:21 PM

I'm sticking with the notion that the Broncos will win a playoff game before KC...

You may well be right, Mr. Mile High Mania. Unfortunately.

It's been so long since the Chiefs won a playoff game, I can't even imagine what it would feel like. Seriously. I think it would mess with my head.

Mile High Mania 03-12-2009 06:29 PM

I've said it before... I may not like your team, but the majority of Chiefs' fans are diehard faithfuls that deserve to see their team win it all. I wouldn't enjoy it, but it would be good for you guys.

Buck 03-12-2009 06:31 PM

Im not sure who I think will win a playoff game first, but I doubt either will win a Championship any time soon. I actually think the Chiefs will win one before the Broncos.

Well, reality says that looking at both teams now.... either of them winning a title is wishful thinking and flat out hope by fans like us. Neither is consistently competitive and while they both have nice building blocks... both teams need lots of help.

Personally, I think that the Chargers will stay on top for another 1 or 2 years. Then it will be the Chiefs/Broncos (depending on Cutler) for the following 5 or 6 years. Then from there its too hard to predict, but thats what it looks like to me.

keg in kc 03-12-2009 06:51 PM

The chargers might be lucky enough to get one last gasp on top, but my guess is that 8-8 wins the division again, and I have no idea which team will be good enough to do it.

wild1 03-12-2009 06:54 PM

chiefs are two offseasons away, counting this one, from being contenders - IF they do everything right.

don't know about Denver, but it sounds like they have gone backward this offseason

You seriously think with Shawne Merriman coming back to the Chargers the best they'll do is 8-8?

They've got serious chemistry problems. Did anybody think the Cowboys would finish the way they did?

With a whiny QB who is getting the rep that it's easy to get into his head and throw him off his game?

Yeah, I do.

Denver Dave 03-13-2009 12:13 PM

Denver is at a crossroads. There's a decent chance this team regresses and goes 4-12 or 5-11. On the flip side, the Broncos did have the second youngest offense in the NFL who ranked second in yards per game last year. This team does have upside. What Taco said isn't far fetched.

Mile High Mania 03-13-2009 12:42 PM

If you ask me... every team in the AFCW is at a 'crossroads', they all need help and none are at a point to seriously be considered a strong threat to win it all. SD is closer than the other 3, but they're not elite.... not by any means.

Norv Turner....... You are the WEAKEST LINK. Goodbye

He is the difference in them NOT being better than they are IMHO.
