Have you heard of it? If so, do you call it something else?

Chex Rice Cereal (I've also used Crispex, but Chex was on sale), chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar.

Just curious. I posted on facebook today that I made a double batch (to take to school tomorrow night), and a few of you didn't know what "Puppy Chow" was.

Thats good stuff. I've never heard it called 'Puppy Chow', though.

My grandma used to make it. I thought I'd heard it referred to as Puppy Chow, and three classmates knew exactly what it was when I called it that. On the back of the Chex box, it says Chex Muddy Buddies.

Yea.love the stuff.....wife makes it sometimes.....recipe is usually on the sides on the chex boxes....but i think they call it something different?

I've always heard it called Puppy Chow. I think it was in every grade school cookbook my kids' classes put together.

They were a staple of my childhood diet.

Yep we always called it puppy chow.

I never heard of it until about 5 or 6 months ago a family member was talking about making it. Didn't taste bad at all.

Puppy chow, yes. That's pretty much the best junk food I know of. Good for parties and gameday.

If you buy a box of the rice Chex cereal, the recipe is on the back.

9 cups cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Measure cereal out into large bowl and set aside. In microwavable bowl, combine chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave for one minute, then stir. Microwave an additional 30 seconds, if needed. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal and stir until coated. In a plastic bag (I use the plastic bags from the grocery store...make sure to check for holes), combine coated cereal and powdered sugar, close bag, and shake. I usually end up putting in a little extra powdered sugar. Store puppy chow in an air tight container.

I always make that shit. Very good and very easy to make.....kinda messy though.
