I am replacing a barely working S3. I don't upgrade because i have to always have the latest and greatest. I just need it to work. :-)

Battery maybe. SD, who cares. The SD actually slows the devices down and is more likely to corrupt than device storage. Buy larger capacity on the phone and use cloud storage.

Eh, I've been using the same SD card to store music and photos on my Androids for 4 years now.

Is there an "unbreakable" smart phone? My wife drops her phone all the time and she has ruined her last 3 including, her most recent, a Nexus 5.

Keep it in a case.

I've dropped every smartphone I've had several times and have never broken one.

She always has it in a case and it hasn't helped. I guess maybe a better case...

I have an Incipio case now, but usually just use the $20 cases you can get at WalMart.

I have modded the shit out of my s4 and never had a corruption issue. Just bullshit what these companies are doing making the battery and Sd slot unmovable.

You still have the S5 to upgrade to. My son has one.

Bearcat 04-11-2015 09:27 AM

Still have an S3... two, actually, which equals 6.

Since T-Mobile stopped giving deep discounts on phones, I just can't bring myself to pay $500+ unless shit dies... I have the common power button issue on one of them now, so I just avoid that button. :D

Seems like all companies are trying to follow the ****ing Apple plan with no SD cards, they want you to put your shit on the clouds. google/apple and other shit out there. I love mY LG G3 though. thing is damn nice.

I won't move up until absolutely necessary if that's the case. I can't imagine only having the one battery, my S4 goes through them WHILE CHARGING like crazy....It's the fatal flaw of the S4. I did without a smart phone up until 2 years ago and I can hold on to this one until I have to move on. From My Cold Dead Hands! :D

well they do sell them batteries that connect to the power port that people use and are a fairly reasonable price.

Why does that make him 70? Hes referring to people that have to go out and upgrade their phone very single year.

I agree with him. I use my phone until its just not getting the job done anymore. Then I start looking for a new upgrade. And by new upgrade, I mean something that has been on the market for at least a year so I'm not overpaying for it.

InChiefsHeaven 04-14-2015 06:24 AM

I have the s5, my first really nice smart phone. I like it alot, but it has its qwerks. I like the camera most of the time, but sometimes it just keeps trying to focus and takes forever to be ready to take a pic. Sucks when I'm trying to take a pic of my grandson doing something, and by the time the camera is ready he's not doing it anymore...not sure if it's me or the camera...heh...

Sannyasi 04-14-2015 06:25 AM

I've been a big fan of some of the previous Galaxy phones, but I don't think I could really buy a phone without and SD slot. The extra space is a necessity, because cloud storage isn't viable for me.

This isn't what his post implied to me. My parents are in their 70s and act like I'm handing them a live grenade when I want them to watch a video on it.
