****Offical Chiefs @ Ravens Game Thread****
Time to keep the train running down the tracks!
GAMETIME: 12 p.m. CT on Sunday, December 20 LOCATION: M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. HOW TO WATCH: CBS | KCTV5 Local HOW TO LISTEN: 101.1 The Fox CHIEFS REWIND WRAP-UP SHOW: Local listings GAMCENTER: Chiefs.com Injuries can ruin an entire season, and that is a truth that every team in the NFL must deal with. The Kansas City Chiefs (8-5) have lost running back Jamaal Charles, offensive lineman Ben Grubbs and cornerback Phillip Gaines, among others, to Injured Reserve, but they have managed to sustain their season and will go for their eighth win in a row Sunday. Their opponent, the Baltimore Ravens (4-9), have lost a staggering 18 players to Injured Reserve, and that includes starting quarterback Joe Flacco, No. 1 wide receiver Steve Smith and starting running back Justin Forsett. At this point in the season, the Ravens have acknowledged they are playing for pride. But that doesn’t mean the Chiefs plan to take them lightly. “It’s easy when you turn on the film to see they’re not exactly what their record shows,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said this week. “They had a few injuries, but the guys who are playing in there are playing their hearts out and I know firsthand that they’re very well-coached and that they’ll play hard.” Filling in for Flacco will likely be 12-year veteran Matt Schaub, who didn’t play against the Seahawks last week due to shoulder and chest discomfort. In two starts for the Ravens this season, Schaub is 52 of 80 for 540 yards passing, 3 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. |
In for the win
|
If the Chiefs play the way they did to start their current win streak then there is nothing the Ravens can do to win. If KC makes a bunch of unforced errors, stupid penalties, and turnovers then anything can happen...

My wife and I woke up at 530am to head down to baltimore for this game. I want to see a beatdown today by the Chiefs. LETS GO!!!
|
Go CHIEFS!
|
I'll be there. Driving up from DC now.

Getting ready to head out for the game.
I anticipate a long day of looking up at the sky from the ground for the Ravens Quarterback, regardless who plays. |
lets go chiefs!!!!!!
|
Smed1065 with the gdt we got this.
|
Absolutely no reason why the Chiefs shouldn't win this easily.
I'm almost expecting 2 Chiefs defensive TDs. 5 Raven turnovers. Chiefs roll 41-13 :D |
Ready for a beat down ! In for da win
|
I think the weather there today is supposed to be Sunny and in the 40s. Light winds.
|
Hope no letdown occurs
|
Let's go Chiefs, Ravens are beat up. We need to kick em while they're down.

Ware expected to play, Houston out, per NFL network

On TV in Donkey land.
Excited to see a noticeable improvement from last week, but I can't shake that nagging feeling that KC still has a dud left in 'em. |
Let's go boys! Get off to fast start and put this team away. We're due for one of those patented 8 minute opening drive for a TD.
|
The Ravens have something to prove in this game. No Justin Houston means Schaub can breathe a little in the pocket, allowing him to exploit the Chiefs with his accuracy.
27-14 Ravens. |

Is it possible ...
The jets keep winning and keeps Pittsburgh out of the playoffs The steelers beat Denver costing the Broncos the Division The Chiefs win out and take the division Both Denver and Pittsburgh miss the playoffs? |

Yes, right now they're in with tiebreakers over Pittsburgh, but if both teams won out Pittsburgh would pick up enough conference wins to match the Jets and go to another tiebreaker, which would put the Steelers in. Only reason the NYJ are ahead right now is they've played and won more conference games. |
The Ravens are wearing gold pants today....
Yikes.... |
24-6 Chiefs

clearly we just need to take care of business - they're doing well w/ less staff. Seems the Royal's winning ways spread to the Chiefs 'psychologically' - this is exciting - who'd have thought after that start - we'd actually be excited again for a game, .. this season, even ... ??

Just a random fact… last time the Chiefs played in Baltimore, Brodie Croyle was the starting QB (starting in place of an injured Matt Cassel), Larry Johnson was the starting RB and it was the first regular season game of the Fat Scott/Todd Haley era.
It has been a while. |
Allen is inactive. What is going on with that dude.

I seriously don't think Croyle even won one NFL reg. season game - right?

He has the talent but not the toughness. We can't go through every year worrying about whether he can stay healthy. :( |
Quote:
|
You're right SR, Croyle was 0 for his career. Never won a single game.
