Anthony Sherman

It's easy to forget his impact on the team, but his block to spring West on the long touchdown was huge. Here's a replay of it just for fun.

Aside from that, I added a new BBCode {video} to embed links to mp4 videos that you might find around the interwebs. If it seems to work, I might try and dd it with an icon at some point.

Wow.

But the biggest block on this play? Jah Reid. Literally isn't more than a 3-4 yard gain if he doesn't get to Daryl Smith on the second level.

Toby Waller 12-21-2015 12:18 AM

what was the point of the Ravens pants?

And that's why he's our RT for years to come!

I love it when a plan comes together!

Why they dont run more I-form variations is behind me. Sherman is one of if not the best blocking FB in the league.

Yeah, he probably is. At least for next season too.

Agreed. It pains me that they don't take advantage of this more often. I just hope Sherman is still happy to be there. Probably is, but despite his limited role, I sure like having the best FB in the game.

The contract he signed is basically a one year deal that's standard for a back up swing tackle. He has a chance to start but if Reid and Dorsey want someone better, they'll get him.

Good catch on the Reid block. While watching the replay they showed during the game, I had noticed the Sherman block, but not Reid's. Both of those guys made great blocks. :thumb:

I'm okay with that. While not terrible like Stephenson, he's definitely not great. If they want to bring in someone to challenge for that spot, good for them and good for the team.

Saving our best stuff for the playoffs.

I'm being serious, too.

Look at how we played Indy in the regular season in 2013 as opposed to how we played them in the playoffs.

This team is trying to win without using its biggest strengths.

ILChief 12-21-2015 09:26 AM

But we traded Javier Arenas

Saul Good 12-21-2015 09:41 AM

As much as anything, the timing of the blocking was perfect.

We drafted a fullback (maybe 2, i don't remember)
we signed a fullback in FA
We traded cornerback for a Fullback

all in a 2 month period

The we cut/released all of them but Sherman

scho63 12-21-2015 09:54 AM

Anthony Sherman has been an unsung hero here for a long time. He is fantastic, almost as good as Tony Richardson was. That guy set the bar real high.

For me, that was where I saw the beauty in the play. Sherman waits until the LB squares up and then immediately lunges to engage him right away. Really, just a beautifully executed play by Reid, Sherman and Fulton.

The blocks were almost perfectly simultaneous. That's what turned it from a 4 yard gain to a score. Those blocks really only give the back a few run for a fraction of a second. That they were able to synchronize them perfectly was impressive to watch.
