Destroyed by fire this morning

I'm going out on a limb and stating that fire was the cause.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, and guys in trees shouldn't snitch on fire.

I've had friends who have seen shows there. Somehow I never made it into the joint.

Yet Buzzard Beach lives...

That was our bar. I probably saw Sin City Disciples at Davey's 20 times. My idiot friend started the biggest brawl they ever had. We were rolling around in the middle of Main St. Good times.

The amazing thing is that was my stepdad's bar a generation before us.

Convenient timing on the fire too.

Btw I know for a fact Lucille's was deliberate. I can say that now because the owner killed himself.

Oh wow, classic place.

Hung out there often, from day drinking to shooting pool to epic shows. Was last there with friends in Oct 2018 while in town for a Chiefs game.

Davey's charged the same for a cup of water as they did for Old Style cans. No free rides.

I spent an unhealthy amount of time there a decade ago fresh outta college. I wouldn't step foot in there unless I was outrageously ****ed up now. Coincidentally I celebrated the SB win in Westport....at Buzzard and some other random places. Found a dirty, cool trucker hat under the table and watched a drunk dude get his melon split by cops from the deck shortly after.

When I wasn't touring I worked there for ten years. It's what I did to pay the bills when I was home. It was my living room. I met my late wife there.

In case anyone actually cares and just doesn't want to spout a bunch of bullshit rumors-

no, nobody was hurt.

I sifted through the wreckage this morning with the owners and former co-workers. I haven't worked there in almost a decade but I did for ten plus years.

The culprit appears to be a motor that was installed on the beer cooler yesterday afternoon. Shorted out, caught fire after close.

Nobody set the fire on purpose, and if the building itself is deemed stable, they'll clean it all up and reopen.

Some of you guys need to think before you start running your mouths. Sometimes shit is ****ing personal.

I hope the bathroom didn't burn. Davey's wouldn't be the same without that disgusting hole.

Will probably amount to how hot those old brick walls got. The first pictures I saw of the bar area man it looked bad. Those other pictures away from that area gave me some hope.
