I think I detected a UFO.
 

I was driving in a really rural area a couple of days ago. It was a bright day with scattered clouds that were really high.

I was on a quiet country road with agricultural fields on both sides of me. So if you think about my field of vision, it was essentially this:

crops
ditch
road
ditch
crops

There were no trees nearby, though you could see them at a distance, maybe 1,000 feet away in various copses.

There were no other cars visible.

So I'm driving, and all of a sudden I see a shadow moving from left to right. It was maybe 30 or 40 feet in diameter, kind of round but not exactly. It was the shape of a manta ray without the wings.

It moved left to right at a notable speed, but not extremely fast. It moved at maybe 20 mph from left to right. I didn't notice on the crops, but I noticed it at the ditch on my left and then it was clear when it crossed the road, and then onto the ditch to my right. It lasted maybe 3 or 4 seconds at most.

I immediately looked up, because I wondered what it was. I heard no noise at all that would indicate a plane or drone or helicopter. But there was nothing in the sky, nothing at all.

The shadow was very clear and obvious. It was free-moving, with no long tail like a tree shadow or something. It was far too big to be a bird or drone, and not the right shape for a plane or helicopter. It was too fast to be a cloud, and there were no low clouds anyway. The shadow was discrete and roundish and clearly moving at an unnaturally fast pace.

My only conclusion is that it was an alien scout ship with a cloaking device, but even with the cloaking it still cast a shadow.

Can anyone offer an alternative explanation?

Only Rainman would get to see a UFO.

I have told my story about my Grandmother in Carthage in 86 or so - This sounds very similar TBH. I later was able to verify grandmother's story on a youtube channel a church meet-up had put out - the people in the video were in the Vienamese Church across from Bob's IGA - Grandmother was leaving IGA ath the time. Sounds like a phenomenon that is known in a couple of places. The Seneca Missouri spool light and the Gurden Arkansas light. I've heard stories about both and have been to both sites, but never actually saw either light. But the description is similar to yours.

If aliens could get here, they would be undetectable by our technology. I don't doubt that you saw something and there's a lot that we don't know however I believe jumping straight to aliens is a bit of a leap.

I really hope you did see aliens. Although if they could get here and are anything like us, we are screwed.

There is no other explanation. It was UFO.

Seeing nothing but a shadow makes me think it’s a military aircraft. But I’m also unable to rule out a cloud if it was only 20 mph.

It was probably a bird or something. Aircraft shadows move really ****ing fast. A little 172 or something like that a shadow would be visible on the road much less than 3 seconds. Plus the higher it is the faster the shadow moves (I think I have that physics right) Even loaded ag spray planes which are really heavy and slow and close to the ground would be across the road in a second or less.

A friend and I both saw a very small object hover over our windshield for several seconds as we drove through the desert outside of El Paso, TX sometime around 1984-85. It matched our pace exactly for a while, then shot away in the direction we were traveling at a highly accelerated rate.

I've never tried to guess what it might have been. I like carrying the experience of the "U" part of my UFO sighting.

They are here, based in Columbia Mo. We call them Tigers so the rest of the world can tell the difference in between them and humans.

Not that I know of. However, a day earlier I suddenly had some gastrointestinal distress with no warning and no likely cause. If the aliens can displace time, they could have reversed two days for me.

That's probably as good of a non-alien theory as it gets. I don't know if there was wind or not, but the shadow had distinct borders and wasn't shape-shifting. So I still have a poorly cloaked alien ship as my leading theory.

It's clearly a time lapse/alternate reality merger. The area you were in was once a shallow ocean, or is in another reality (see the Mandela effect). Your brain in this reality cannot comprehend that you were under water with light being blocked by a manta ray in another reality.


In all seriousness on the expanded perspectives pod cast there are reports regularly of people seeing manta rays in the sky. Its interesting that so many people would see them. It could be project blue beam (look it up) or a time lapse. Or reality merger. Or an alien ship.

Sounds like you had a run in with Mothman.

That stuff's weird to think about. I've read that different species pick up different wave lengths, so they live in a different world than we do even if we're right next to them. I think it's particularly true of insects.

I'm as much a believer in the extraterrestrial as there is but it seems there is probably some other explanation. A high cloud you didn't notice perhaps. I'm not sure about the possibility of a brief planetary shadow from Venus. I'm not an astronomy expert.

All I can say is with everything that has been declassified the past few years and all the new data NASA is releasing, if you think it’s impossible that the OP saw a UFO, you’ve got some serious cognitive dissonance going on.

Not saying it was, I wasn’t there and there’s no definitive proof. However, the chances that it was some kind of otherworldly craft are not even really unlikely at this point. Probably more likely as it was just a military craft, but not impossible by any extent.

When you can only perceive a small fraction of all things that exist there's probably a lot of things out there you didn't think existed.

This UFO lived near you?

I posted on my Facebook back in may. I was mowing in the front yard and my neighbor came out on her elevated deck. As I was talking to her. I saw something off color zipping across the sky above her. It was moving pretty good. It was just slightly darker than the sky. It really lit up when the sun reflected off of it.
I thought maybe it was a drone and depth was playing perception issue until it went in and out of the clouds. The super high clouds. My neighbor asked what I was looking at finally. Of course my phone was inside. I walked to the front yard and followed it. It stopped mid air and just went back the other way, it was going fast enough to shoot across my entire vision of the sky in about 30 seconds.

Hopefully one of our aircraft. But it was almost invisible outside of the glare and slight color difference. Flying higher than the taller clouds and can stop on a dime at those speeds. And my stop I mean, not turning around. Just stopping and going the other way.

I think something's happening. They know that we're onto them.

After my haunted house experience I'm willing to listen to anything. Although with a grain of salt.

I’ve had a similar experience. They fly low and quick and if there are hills they fall out of sight horizon quick.
