Giving a fumble against Juju while he was being spear tackled was a disgusting call that totally goes against player safety.

It's uncanny how often they pull these games out of their ass and after Cheffers decided to make it his goal to will the Texans to a touchdown, I thought it might finally bite them in the ass in a late season game.

Megatron96 12-18-2022 03:21 PM

**** that POS. 10 flags vs. KC, just 4 vs. HOU? And not one flag on HOU for the last 20 minutes or so? Last HOU penalty was 1:35 left in the 3rd.

he should be fired before he gets out of the stadium.

JewJew has had the most concussions I've ever seen. There is a video on youtube of the Hardest NFL Hits Ever(like 12M views). Juju is in one of the clips when he was on the Steelers, he got absolutely destroyed, may be the most brutal hit in the video. He got destroyed this season, too.

He also really didn't want to give us that fumble recovery at the end there either.

That's probably how refs think.... wait, what did we call in that playoff game 6 years ago? We should be consistent.

Seriously though, for all the bullshit flags, if that was actually a fumble (they didn't exactly show us a good replay from what I saw), I think the call is fine... had the Texans fumbled in that situation, I would have thought calling forward progress was bullshit.

Saying they were 'challenging forward progress' was a reeruned thing to say, but whatever... dude got hit and fumbled, it's a fumble, no matter what happened 8 years ago or whatever.

According to https://www.footballzebras.com/2022/...liveblog-2022/

It is newly reviewable this year.

Am I the only one that felt like he regained possession against his thigh, and the ground caused him to ultimately fumble?

jettio 12-18-2022 03:47 PM

JuJu looked kinda silly delivering a blow to the tackler and have the ball getting knocked loose. That was a fumble. Heads up play by the LB, to immediately go for it. JuJu arguably had it pinned with his elbow to his side, but if the defender immediately goes for it, no problem calling that a fumble.

Seems like Chiefs DB were using their hands on the calls that were made. Except for the illegal contact on Thornhill at the goal line. That was bad call since the receiver moved into Thornhill. I think flag on Gay may have been ticky tack, but the TE caught the TD anyway.

Cheffers crew is nuts, but Chiefs DBs did not adjust. It was not like there were a bunch of plays where Texans DBs were using hands a lot and getting away with it.

Chiefs coaching should have been use hands less and make them complete a pass for the first down.

lcarus 12-18-2022 03:48 PM

Do people really not think Cheffers and crew aren't crooked at this point? They ****ed our whole drive when we were up by 2 points and heading down to make it 9. Phantom holding on Juju on a big gain. Then they call a horse shit "blindside block" on McKinnon. Then they just award Houston the ball because Juju fumbled. It looked like he had the ball on the ground and let the Texans player take it because the whistle had already blown 10 seconds ago. Then they call illegal contact allllllll the way down the field for Houston until they finally get it in the end zone.

Then there was the awful PI on 3rd and 8 when Houston drove down to tie the game at 24.

There were several more flags that Cheffers actually picked up because at that point it was certain we weren't gonna cover the spread. The whole league reeks of bullshit with the gambling now being such a big part of it. It was always a big part of it but it was kinda behind the scenes and seperate. Now they're working together to make tons of money.

KS Smitty 12-18-2022 03:52 PM

My favorite NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs, won despite my least favorite NFL official Carl Cheffers refereeing the game.

These last 2 games have been too close for comfort.

LOCOChief 12-18-2022 03:53 PM

Green didn’t question even 1of those calls today No balls

OnTheWarpath15 12-18-2022 03:55 PM

I don't wanna hear shit about the refs. The Chiefs sucked as hard as Cheffer's crew did.

Grateful for the win, and the Division title - but they need to get shit cleaned the **** up. Been extremely sloppy for a few weeks now.

****ing defense has given up season highs in points to the two worst offensive teams in back to back weeks.

I'll never doubt Mahomes, but the rest of this team needs to do some soul searching.

Anything can happen in the playoffs. Our D could get hot, who knows.

That said, I have little expectations for this years squad.
I think it's officially the Bills year to get their ring.

I just don't think the Chiefs want it more than their competition.

this is NOT the 2015 Royals, or the 2019 Chiefs out on a Mission.

This has been hum-dee-dumb, we don't need to try very hard because we have Mahomes to save us... Many Sundays they are sleep-walking.

That was the other thing on that play. Even if it is a reviewable play now, how was it not ruled that he had recovered that ball if there was a fumble? Any "recovery" by the Texans came long after the play was over and the whistle was blown.

The game felt like it was being rigged to ensure the Chiefs didn't get out to big lead for the entire 2nd half.

They would have executed the player on the field if that was Tom Brady.

DON'T WANT TO SOUND LIKE A RAIDERS FAN:
It's Raiders fan-like to bitch about the officiating and various conspiracies against your team, but today was complete BS.
I generally try to stay objective when it comes to officiating. If there's a flag down against either side, I just want to see the penalty on replay. I'm from Missouri, show me the penalty. When they do, I may be cool with it. If it was piss weak I'll accept it. Or I'm yelling, "Piss Weak!" at the TV. Or I'm yelling at the TV because the flag was BS. I call BS on a penalty against the other team if I don't think they deserved. It's embarrassing to me to get moved down the field with a yellow flag road (a la 20 years of Tom Brady).
Today, was full on crap officiating with tons of BS against the Chiefs.
And I'm objective.

The chiefs sucked...until you look at the box scores. 502 yards of total offense compared to 223 for the Texans. 6.6 ypp vs 3.8 for Houston. Over 42 minutes of TOP vs 27 for the texans.

The difference was 10 penalties for 102 yards against the chiefs. Every scoring drive by the Texans was aided by the refs converting 3rd downs for them with penalties

Yeah, if you get a ref job like that against a good team or equal match, you aren’t winning.

Mahomes has a black daddy and will never get a fair shake on roughing the passer calls. That non-call was bullshit and it was disappointing that Trent Green said it was a good call because the only roughing the passer he knew was body weight. Except for Romo, every CBS non play-by-play guy always says the referees original call was great unless there is an overturn or a replay makes it clear that the call was wrong.

Don't know what McKinnon play you are talking about? who was the player called for the penalty?

I'm good with no call on the Pacheco losing helmet. There was no grabbing of the facemask. What call do you think they should have called? If it is not a clothes line tackle or a actual grabbing of the facemask cage or earhole, I don't think it is a penalty unless excessively violent.

I'm not sure they ever showed it. They followed the ball from another angle. I metioned to my wife at the time that it looked like Mahomes was going to get hammered, and I wondered if there would be a flag. There wasn't. But also no replay that I recall.

There certainly some "odd" calls against the Chiefs and blind eyes against the Texans. Then there were flags picked up with no explanation. The league needs to review tape on "some" officials.

Why would they review the refs that are doing their bidding? The NFL wants close, "exciting" games. Not blowouts.

Why would they review the refs that are doing their bidding? The NFL wants close, "exciting" games. Not blowouts.

Quote:

Fans love free football, and they were rewarded with plenty of post-regulation dramatic finishes in 2021. Prior to this year, the most overtime games played in a single season was 12 in 1995. By Week 6 of 2021, the league had played 11 overtime games and finished the regular season with 21 overtime games, shattering the record.

and already at 17 for 2022

:hmmm:

The world cup final today was a difficult game to officiate with a high potential for error (and abuse), but was accomplished at high quality with a fraction of refs.

The NFL better fix what's wrong with their model.
