That seems fair

A little surprised they chose a dome, but makes sense for spectators.

Why? That's of no advantage to KC. The Bills play in the worst weather in the league regularly.

I like our offense full of speed, and quick twitch guys in a dome.

I’ve driven solo from KC to Atlanta in one day before, it’s doable. Rush hour traffic is nuts though, choose hotel location wisely if you’re leaving early Monday.

This.

We've already seem some Big-time problems handling passes in the cold from our receivers.

A domed afc title game is advantage KC all day.

you can book fully refundable flights via southwest or united (maybe a few other airlines), and there's several downtown atlanta hotels that also allow free cancellation.

some hotels are already adjusting their prices from yesterday to today post announcement.

Atlanta guy here. The family and I just drove out to KC for Broncos game 2 weeks ago. Drive is exactly 12 hours. Did a 2 part drive to KC stopping at Paducah - exactly half way. Return trip drove in 1 straight shot, not bad.

Drive highlights: If you are a golfer, Sweetens Cove is literally just off I-24 outside Chattanooga (they won't have tee times listed avail but have cancellations every day, call and talk to them). Also a Bucee's about an hour north of Atl on I-75.

Can't wait for the game if it happens, will absolutely be there with my sons. There are a ton of Bills fans down here, but I'd expect it to be 50-50.

Patrick Mahomes is 15-2 in warm weather cities.

In one loss, the Chiefs scored 51 points.

In the other, no offensive line showed up.

Frazod 01-12-2023 01:09 PM

The main thing I hate about Atlanta is the traffic. It's right up there with New York, Boston and DC. Actually worse than Chicago. Traffic on a Saturday (good weather, no road construction) was like Chicago rush hour.

I like the airport and flew through their as a Delta Platinum for years. The airport is big, but the Trams help, although their are some long escalator rides to get to other terminals if connecting, or to Baggage claim. However, there is a train that runs downtown for $2.50 and is the most efficient way to get there and quite easy.

FloridaMan88 01-12-2023 01:12 PM

Atlanta (different stadium) was the site of one of Mahomes' first epic highlight plays... that 69 yard pass to Tyreek in the 2018 preseason.

ptlyon 01-12-2023 01:12 PM

Flew into Atlanta a couple of times going to talladega. Thought we were going to die on the interstate going 100 to just keep up with traffic.

Good question. As a season ticket holder, I have heard nothing from the Chiefs about this. Like no first dibs for STHs or anything like that. I assume this simply means that our only playoff game if the Bills and Chiefs make it to the conference championship game is the divisional round game next weekend. in other words, Chiefs STHs are on the same playing field as anyone else trying to get tix to this game, if it happens.

Nothing about this is fair. I mean, I guess it's one of the less painful ways of getting screwed, but it's still getting screwed if it actually comes to pass.

The Bills completely gamed the system and came out smelling like roses instead of the shit they actually are.

I had knee surgery three weeks ago. There will be no live sporting events of any kind in my immediate future.

The wife is a big Braves fan, and we've been down there several times over the years to go to games. The last time I drove, we had a few hours to kill before a Saturday night game, so I thought it would be cool to visit Stone Mountain, which seemed like it would be about a 45 minute drive from the area of then Sun Trust Park. WRONG. Took over an hour and a half to get there and nearly two hours to get back. Traffic was absolutely miserable; definitely not something I wanted to deal with during a vacation weekend. Ended up having about 20 minutes to look around before leaving. After that I determined to never drive a car in that area again. The next time we went down we just took a cab from the airport to the Omni Hotel adjacent to now Truist Park. Plenty of restaurants in that complex, so there was no need to drive. That was fun. I'll definitely stick to that in the future.

It’s definitely messed up that they didn’t finish the Cincy game, and even more messed up that the NFL gave Buffalo home field advantage over Cincy. Those teams should have a neutral site after not finishing the game last week.
