Yeah crazy stuff

WhawhaWhat 12-09-2023 07:16 PM

Is that why they couldn't afford a cart to bring Trevor Lawrence to the locker room?

No doubt and the fact he got several years of plush living he got more than just a swing.

Glad they caught him. Apparently a dude named Samir nagheenanajar

Rain Man 12-09-2023 08:24 PM

That guy came in hot. In only 4 years he stole $22 million? That was not a good employee who found a loophole. He came in planning to steal money.

Eleazar 12-09-2023 09:12 PM

I'm not sure I would make a good criminal, but I would guess that an important part of it would be staying under the radar.

It’s not easy. Sometimes you just mess up some mundane details

How much money is the team making when $32 million can go missing unnoticed?

LOL Home team usually always do that so they can get more warmup time for the backup:thumb:

Jags want fanduel to give them their money back

I'm not going to pretend to know the legality, but with the amount of money this dude was losing there's no way FanDuel didn't have some idea what was going on. There's no way it was just flying under the radar.

cmh6476 02-02-2024 05:21 PM

If I'm stealing $20m I'm not subsequently blowing it on fanduel bets

Womble 02-02-2024 05:36 PM

That'll get you a lot of $100 lunches.

This would be a really fun fight to see. Would the NFL league office side with the Jaguars or the gamblers? My hunch is that they'll stay very quiet, but if forced to pick sides, they'd side with the gamblers. That would say a lot about the NFL as an organization.

I suspect the truth of the matter is that the Jaguars have zero chance of getting any of that money back

But now I'm curious. I don't know legal stuff very well. If he stole a bunch of team cars or computers, the Jaguars would show the serial numbers and the police would take them from the gamblers and give the back to the Jaguars. So why is money different? Is it just because they can't identify the actual currency notes used? If it's abundently clear that this guy didn't have $22 million until he got the job, and then suddenly he was betting millions of dollars, it's clear to me as a juror that he was using the stolen dollars. But I have a hunch that the law doesn't work that way. Why?
