Hell, taking a shot and drafting a QB instead of another recycled reject hand me down from another team was what I wanted.

People citing this as some sort of "oh shit, here come the Raiders" are hilarious. Here's what that move did:

The Raiders went from having undeniably the worst QB in the division last year to having....arguably the worst QB in the division this year.

The Raiders will probably win a couple more games than they did last year....and still finish last in the division.

That's exactly what's going to happen. The Raiders are going to draft Deion's kid and give him the Mahomes treatment by letting him sit behind a vet for a year (maybe two).

Now watch them sign Tyler Lockett.

Seattle should have done that when they traded Russell Wilson and had all of that extra draft capital at their disposal.

Instead, ironically, they ended up stuck in the same place they were in at the end of Fat Russ’ tenure… in the mediocre middle.

You have to remember-their coach is in his 70's.

Giving up a 3rd for decent QB play short-term isn't bad at all.

It would be epically reeruned for Seattle to give up a good LT just because they are reloading.

Bridge QB. Raiders will still draft a QB this year or next. Geno and Darnold the only OK QBs available so.....meh. I dont think Carroll is a dummy but I'll wait and see

He's a legit NFL QB. That's more than half of the teams have, in my opinion. That qualifies. I'd take Geno before I'd pay Darnold $40m.

And I'm not so sure on Cross now. If they want to start a new clock on paying a LT, they'll be in position to draft one next year for sure. This looks like a tank job.

Having the Raiders being a mid-tier team is good for the Chiefs...they play the Broncos/Chargers twice a year. It also takes them out of the running to get a top QB prospect.

When you dig a little deep and think about it, if it weren't for Geno Smith we may never have had Travis Kelce. At least not playing TE.

Andy Reid came to the Chiefs then traded away two 2nd round picks for Smith and turned the team around. Pete might be able to pull off the same stunt.

The Raiders now have a stable coach, OC, and QB play. They're really going to have to beef up the rest of the team if they want any chance at the AFC WEST.

They have cap space and draft picks to accomplish that goal. They really haven't made a questionable move yet.

What worked out was when the team did exactly what the Seahawks are at least trying to do, find a QB that can actually win a championship. And I like Alex. But he was what he was. If you wanna look at Chiefs history trying to win a SB with a mid QB, spoiler alert, there ain’t much to see, good results wise.
