Wow. Seahawks are just going to gut it all and start over.
|
Geno Smith with Chip Kelly calling plays. CP's wet dream in 2012.
|
Raiders gon’ Raider.
|
That's an upgrade, unfortunately.

Geno Smith sucks, good luck with that.

Does Chris Jones still have the biggest, chocolatiest penis in the AFC West?

Hahahaha, nice.

What a terrible trade and idea.
**** Tom Brady. |
Geno Smith smells like 8-10 wins. Impressive for the Raiders I guess.

10 years ago this would have moved the needle.

probably better than giving Sam Darnold a $30-40m contract, which some team is probably going to do
|
Deions kid would be a good pick to sit for a year....
|
It's gonna be painful, but I have to do it.
I have to say "**** Geno Smith." I'll do it. It's just going to take me some time, that's all. For now, let me pretend he's not on the Raiders. At least until the end of the offseason. |
No one here will want to admit this until it becomes a statistical reality, but the Raiders could easily steal the AFC West next season if the Chiefs **** up the LT situation again.
This is quite reminiscent of the Chiefs bringing in Steve DeBerg or Trent Green. The AFC West just got a lot tighter. |

If they draft Jeanty and get one more WR they could compete |
More competition for Denver and LAC

Smith is one of the most accurate QBs in football. This moved the needle. Significantly. |

Curious what this means for Shedur Sanders. There seemed like a lot of people who had him going to LV. Curious if they still do or if they expect him to be gone by the time they are picking.

But Alex Smith did win the division, eventually. |

We're not beating him 19-17. |
That makes them better. Damn it.

I’m just happy it’s not Rodgers. A bridge coach/QB for a couple years while we figure our shit out. Get us a winning season next year Geno and I’ll be happy.

They gave up a 3rd for a 35 year old QB that they are going to extend.
He makes them better. But not by much. |

I also wanted Aaron Rodgers in 2005 the year we took Derrick Johnson who turned out to be pretty darn good. |

Going from flirtations with Stafford at Tom Brady’s ski lodge… to Geno Smith… is quite a drop.
|
People citing this as some sort of "oh shit, here come the Raiders" are hilarious. Here's what that move did:
The Raiders went from having undeniably the worst QB in the division last year to having....arguably the worst QB in the division this year. The Raiders will probably win a couple more games than they did last year....and still finish last in the division. |

Now watch them sign Tyler Lockett.

Instead, ironically, they ended up stuck in the same place they were in at the end of Fat Russ’ tenure… in the mediocre middle. |

That being said, when they finally did it has paid off handsomely! |
Laws wept.

**** them. I liked Geno but oh well.
Wish we had Bowers though. |
Quote:
"Is our QB good enough to win a Super Bowl?" "Nah, I don't think so" "Then what the **** are we gonna pay him $40 million (or whatever) for?' "Good point. Let's find a shitty team with a retro coach that thinks this dude is actually good" |
3r pick is way too much for a bridge qb.
|
I didn't think he'd still be in the league this long.

Nobody curr
|
It's not a bad move for The Raiders.
You have to remember-their coach is in his 70's. Giving up a 3rd for decent QB play short-term isn't bad at all. |
Even in a full rebuild, would they really trade away a 24 year old LT?

|
It would be epically reeruned for Seattle to give up a good LT just because they are reloading.
That is a HUGE piece of a rebuild they already have. Why in the hell would they let him walk? Stupid. (Also, on what planet is a trade for Geno Smith blockbuster?!) |

I thought this idea was the dumbest thing anyone had come up with...until they shipped Geno out. Now I'm not so sure. Looks like a firesale. |
Quote:
He's only going to coach a few more years, tops. He's thinking very short term. |
Quote:
And I'm not so sure on Cross now. If they want to start a new clock on paying a LT, they'll be in position to draft one next year for sure. This looks like a tank job. |
Quote:
|
When you dig a little deep and think about it, if it weren't for Geno Smith we may never have had Travis Kelce. At least not playing TE.
|
Quote:
It's hard to hate them when they're just pathetic. |
Quote:
Andy Reid came to the Chiefs then traded away two 2nd round picks for Smith and turned the team around. Pete might be able to pull off the same stunt. The Raiders now have a stable coach, OC, and QB play. They're really going to have to beef up the rest of the team if they want any chance at the AFC WEST. They have cap space and draft picks to accomplish that goal. They really haven't made a questionable move yet. |
