Mansionmania Tournament: Round 2, Heat 13
Mansionmania continues with our 32 2nd-round contestants. You will choose among each pair of houses with the following assumptions:
I encourage you to click on the maps in the listings to see the general location and neighborhood. Also, I will only enter contestants if they have a sufficient number of photos to judge, as determined by me. Your entries in this heat are: Oregon https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...3_M97304-10007 California https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...0_M16709-05739 |
This is a beatdown in my book.
The Oregon house is decent, but it's hard to get past the pet cemetery. I'd have to clean that house out and start over, and I'm not sure how many furniture stores are within the 100 mile radius. I have positive perceptions of Oregon, but this house isn't really close to much. The California house is going to be hard for anyone to beat. I love the design and the view is still hard to believe. Even the pictures of the view are fantastic. And it's convenient to a bunch of stuff within the 100 mile radius. I pity the house that gets matched up against this place in the tournament. California gets my vote without hesitation. |
Pass on both for me. Neither one is my vibe.

Point of order Mr Rain Man-
Oregon House- is that a skunk on the counter in the kitchen? |

Maybe I'm seeing things, but what's in the lower right of picture 5? Maybe it's just a chair or something, but I'm hopeful that perhaps it's a glimpse of a walrus skeleton. |
Yeah, this is California in a Walk. I'd much rather live in Oregon on 400 acres and the money than California on 2/3 of an acre. But that house is rough.
Probably the answer is I'd need to get some bids from contractors. I could definitely live in the guest house (I think that's where it's at?) while I un**** the main house. But the Cali house is good enough, you don't sign up to screw with it, I figure it's a 5 un**** project as break even at my age, and even with 700K, that might not happen. This https://ap.rdcpix.com/701fab5f3a8b42...1024_h768.webp Is much better than This https://ap.rdcpix.com/701fab5f3a8b42...1024_h768.webp But it would take a bunch of money to un****. |

California, easy.
No desire to live in a Bass Pro Shop. |
Oregon, easy.
Beautiful property. A lot of acreage. No commie laws. |
I don't use antlers in all of my decorating, so California. Wish it was further south, but I would just go somewhere really hot on my vacations. I would probably schedule them in the winter, which in the Bay area means May.

This is tough. I need acreage and land, but that house is a mess. I’m all for having a trophy room, but that is nuts. Neither for me.

The Oregon house is too busy for me in so many ways. Not even including the animal heads and I'm sure there has to be some good left in San Fran and Sacramento.
Can't believe I'm going to say this but...Cali. :Lin: |
