I can tell you living outside of kc market. this shit is real.
It started with my friends kids. The Dads are all diehards of other teams. Their kids love mahomes because he's exciting and fun to watch. The parents have learned to just cope with their kids wearing a mahomes jersey. This has happened for years. It helps that I live in an area dominated by browns and lions fans who are miserable with their own teams
The past few weeks especially my friends wives are obsessed with the chiefs. they aren't obsessed with football, but they understand it since college football is a religion. The past few weeks they're wearing chiefs shirts. the husbands love Taylor swift now because they said they get to watch way more football than they used to.
So yes we are America's team and it's beautiful. And it's especially beautiful because other teams aren't. And also because patriots fans realize they skipped over them because nobody could tolerate those miserable curmudgeons.
