Blizzard warning issued for KC area; goes into effect Tuesday night
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning lasting from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The warning includes parts of northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, and it includes Wyandotte, Johnson, Platte, Clay, Jackson, Harrison, Daviess, Clinton, Caldwell, Ray, and Leavenworth counties.
A powerful storm system will move across the region Tuesday through Wednesday, bringing multiple hazards to the area.
It will get colder and very windy after midnight on Wednesday. The National Weather Service said
we could have 60-70 mph wind gusts, creating blizzard conditions.
