The way it sounds to me....

Let's say you unhook the internet from the console, or disable the wireless. You'd be able to play any game offline for (right now at least) 24 hours before it basically locks you out and you can't play it any longer. Once you went back online for 5 seconds, you'd have another 24 hours of offline play before it was disabled again.

Like I said, I would likely never even notice it was going on in the background because when I play, my system is always connected online. I would assume that most gamers are the same way whether they are playing MP or SP. But, my issue with it is why - if I am playing off of a disc - should anyone be able to control what I do offline?

I think if MS had just said "Hey, we are doing away with discs, everything will be downloaded & saved on your HD/Cloud" a lot of their problems wouldn't be problems.
