Not suprising...it's how baseball is set up. the rest of the league is merely a 'farm club' for the Yankees to pull talent from.

Why the question mark? It'll happen.

The only question is will he bat before A-Rod or after?

I can't even begin to think about next year yet, but just the thought makes me rather ill.

Maybe if the Red Sox would pony up , they could get Carlos before the Yankees do. Don't let him go the way of A-Rod.

I can only hope that the Dodgers, Red Sox, or Annaheim (with their Disney money) outbid Georgie boy for Carlos' services.

In my fantasy world, beltran signs back with the royals, so they get the players traded, and beltran back. Carlos we are good fans here in KC.

Hopefully, he goes to the Yankees. In fact, I hope every great player in baseball goes to the Yankees, so we can finally bust a cap into the great american pastime once and for all.

Who is to say the Astros don't keep him themselves?

it's not going to bust a cap in the american past time, it will just generate a bigger arms race between the red sox and yankees. ESPN will still cover it, and guys like me that like the game and the strategy will still watch it

Prays for a salary cap. Knows it will never happen as long the MLBPA continues to tighten its grip.

I don't believe Disney owns the Angels anymore.

Houston has every intention of resigning him. If they win it all this year, I would be surprised to see him leave.

Maybe put him in a Cardinals uniform. I'd chip in some lunch money just to tick off Endelt260. :p

This is sad, the way baseball has gone, highest bidder with no cap.

Baseball needs a cap rule, it fair to see.

Problem is the players union will not allow it to happen.

OK Bud, impose it and let the players walk away, bring up the farm teams and start over !

This is the last hurrah. Thats why they mortgaged their future to get Carlos. The killer B's are toast after this year. Contracts are up. They don't have the money to pay for new ones. .

I really wish he would sign back with the Royals, but im dreaming. The Red Sox would be OK, Houston OK. Anyone but the Yankees. They may never get a salary cap in the MLB but maybe they will put more teeth in the luxury tax. Its ironic-in the MLB your teams loose players because there is no salary cap, in the NFL your team looses players BECAUSE of the salary cap.

That will never happen. Bud Selig is all about the big boys doing good. He has a hand in with Georgie boy and it is sad to say but he was hand in hand with John Henry too when he owned the Marlins. He may still be.

That is the best article I've read in a long time. If only Beltran could read that himself sometime in the off season.

We all know we need Eric Gagne.

Come on. I think it would be cool to have a starting rotation full of quality closers.
