There are some things about the rep system I can't understand. Taco John has higher rep than Phobia. Gochiefs has higher rep than Rain Man?

I thought that eventually, one day, I could cash in the rep for some kind of really nice prize.

Like one of those vegetable slicers or something.

What? Am I wrong?

You can, but you have to sit through a 90 minute presentation and refer 5 of your friends.

my thoughts on it are pretty well established.....its obvious that my entire Day sways with my rep total.

.....If I were to recieve a red dot, I might be forced to do something drastic, like eat a DQ Dilly Bar.

I used to wonder what the point of it was. I can see the good points and not so good points. I am voting yes. I have only received neg rep twice, but it was from the same person. One of the comments didn't make sense to me, even after rereading the thread. Although it bothers me knowing that someone might have misunderstood me, I would have been better off not knowing, in my opinion. And you can usually tell by the posts in a thread on who is agreeing with you or disagreeing with you.

with all of the homo threads, queer topics, and gay remarks, i think the rep system should be modified into something more representative of the community, up to date, and politically correct: +FAG and -FAG

if somebody lays a +FAG on you, your FAGgotness just increased on the FAG scale, which could be good or bad for you, depending on if you pitch or catch.

FAG could also be interchanged with synonyms such as DONK, FADER, **insert fag Chiefsplanet member name**, etc. you get the point.

Can one of you original 10 members expain, why it was devised in the first place?

Be honest, then ask if it is accomplishing that a lot, somewhat, or not at all. If it is the latter, then dump it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I include my rep count on my resume. I think it's a pretty powerful indication of my abilities.

Heh, if you support the system just vote "No"

Furthermore, there is no way to really "turn it off" you can make it so your bars are not shown though.

My main point is that it creates really dumb threads and situations in CP that make for our board to look more petty and childish than it actually is. Heh, and thats saying something.

This is a poll looking at the big picture!scoreboard, bitch...

I have no clue what you are talking about. I knew from the beginning that you didn't want the rep.......to many of your buddies have none, and what fun is that.:hmmm: So go find the thread where you think I think that.....:harumph:

And about the pc.....you are right, I probably can't do as much as you on it, after all I never grew up with them in school. I had finished my stint in the Army and was in college before you were born......so....yea I am not as adapt as you.........

I am one of the original members (not first 10 sorry) but it really was not developed. It came as a feature of the Version 3 vBulletin that AustinChief implemented as an upgrade a couple of years ago. The messages have been customized by the administrators over time.
