View Full Version : Chiefs vs. Titans - Pick your score...

I'll save mine for last...

What shall it be... a rejuvenated Chiefs fighting out a tough game with the Titans?

An angry Titans mob slamming down the Chiefs?

A delusional coaching staff that still plans to stuff it up the gut?

You pick the score!

Chiefs 20....Titans 10....

Two struggling offenses and two pretty good Ds...Look for Cat to have a breakout game...at least 7 catches and 1 TD....Moreau gets his first NFL TD and Stoyo adds a couple of FGs...Titans score on an Eddie George run for about 15 yards after some broken tackles and then DelGreco adds an early 4th Quarter TD to make the score 13 to 10...shortly after that, Sly makes his TD catch....here's hoping I'm psychic.... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Chief 20 Titans 14.

As always a complete homer pick. But hey, I really believe it this time. I really do, really, no kidding.

I think it will be much like the Bills/Titans matchup of last week with at least one more touchdown per team. I'm optimistic the Chiefs can stay with Tennessee and perhaps pull it off down the stretch but I'm also fairly realistic. Chiefs cover the spread but lose the turnover battle.

26-24 Once again, I hope I'm wrong.

The Chiefs are going to loft the ball to Morris, the Titans D will adjust, and it will leave TG open for the touchdowns. It will ensue for 4 quarters with a run or 2 to offset the Titans D. McNair having a hard time finding his receivers with pressure and the running game never gets off with our D front line.

By the way, why is the Chiefs owner/mgmt/coaches so dilusional? Why wouldn't you correct your game plan when you see it fail miserably? Can we contact any of these people and voivce our opinions? Wouldn't that be great, if not to at least get an explanation...

This game will come down to 4 things IMO:

QB, RB, coaching, and home field advantage.

Steve McNair will make Manning seem like Christopher Reeve. He will also perform well under pressure if the Chiefs can put any on him.

Eddie George is Gunther's wet dream, although I'd bet that Carl thinks his committee is better because it gained 2,000 yards last year.

Steve Fisher obviously knows how to prepare a team, even against the toughest opponents. He has molded the Titans into the team Gunther wishes he had. He will beat the Chiefs at their own game.

The Chiefs have been even more inept away from Arrowhead than at home since Gunther took over.

Okay, I don't see how the Chiefs can win this one... no game plan, run it up the gut, QB crumples under presure... Titans have a great Defense, and talented offense.

Titans 40, Chiefs 10

BUT, I will be very happy if proven wrong!!!

Idaho Chief,

Care to explain how Grbac is a better QB than McNair? Or even better, how our coaching staff is even with the Titans?

bishop_74
09-07-2000, 01:10 PM
I haven't watched much of McNair, but from what I have heard, it is not because of him that they made it to the SB last year. But I do agree that Titans have the edge on coaching.

Clint,

"Steve McNair will make Manning seem like Christopher Reeve. He will also perform well under pressure if the Chiefs can put any on him." He will also make Nebraska look like a great passing team....

I don't think anyone is trying to say that. But I think we are implying that McNair is not that much better...
Well according to my fantasy league results, Grbac was "better" last week.
I have both of them on my roster. Last week McNair. This week, I'll be a Homer, and the with Elvis.

If we've fixed the correctable problems we had against the Colts (dropped passes, erratic punting, penalties) then we might have a chance.

Homer pick: Chiefs 28 Titans 24

If we haven't improved, we will get waxed.

Realist pick: Chiefs 13 Titans 35

But, I'm an admitted homer.

I think it's completely safe to say that today Elvis was a WAY better QB than McNair. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

Unfortunately, when you play to not lose, that means you're playing not to win.

I lay that on the coaches...ALL of them.
