Duncan runs like he has a clubbed foot and battled polio as a child.

Don't forget Chris Duncan, he of the three errors in about 10 chances this postseason. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

Duncan, I will forgive you if you never, never play in the outfield in an important situation again. And if we trade you for something around the middle of next year.

First opportunity in 24 years and you have a first baseman playing RF in the 6th inning with a lead. He's never been a good fielder out there. What's he supposed to do, say no, I won't go out there? That's squarely on LaRussa. Duncan's not a good fielder, everybody knows it, he's not out there to be a good fielder, he's out there for his bat. He hasn't played much RF to begin with. If you hit Eckstein cleanup and he didn't drive in any runs, you wouldn't be surprised, because that's not playing to his strengths.

:hmmm: I don't really feel all that high on Hancock or Thompson right now. I say let Weaver take care of the bottom and just turn the order over.

Surely, a first baseman catches a routine pop-up once or twice a year

Looks like the Tigers team who lost 120 games a fews years back showed up for this series. They look bad...not as bad as Chris Duncan bad but still bad.

Frazod 10-27-2006 08:31 PM

A couple/few insurance runs would be very nice right about now.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-27-2006 08:31 PM

Jeff Weaver, you're a Cardinal for life in my book.
