Newly updated to reflect free agent signings and pro day results.

Not a fan of Armstead in rd 1, or Prewitt in rd 2. The rest of this new mock is pretty damn good though.

I know you aren't a fan of Prewitt, but I can't figure out why. He's really smooth and has a terrific feel for the game. I think he's going to be a really good pro, especially if he lands in a system that fits his strengths. (Which I think Sutton's system is.)

I'm just not sure what you do with Armstead. Seems alot more athlete, than football player up to this point.

I see the upside I guess

I am not, not a fan.. It's just a full round too soon for me. Watched quite a few games from Ole Miss, and he was so often invisible. Maybe just hard to judge safety play....

I find this draft unsexy and demand a refund.

I just think he does everything really well. He's got very good feet, uses an effective back peddle and flips his hips to either side extremely well. He's really, really smooth in pass protection. Sees the entire field and has a knack for tracking the QB's eyes.

Seems to be a really smart football player to me.

That's fair.. and if he was the choice, I would be optimistic. Still.. despite liking the outcome overall, Armstead? Eh... loads of potential.. but there HAS to be a better BPA there at 18.

Frankly, I don't see anyone that offers Armstead's upside at that point in the draft.

I'm not a huge fan of the purported first round talent pool anyway, but at least Armstead does possess a high ceiling at a position of need. I really think that he's got a chance to be a very good player at the next level.

He really turned it on this season and was a beast. I think he only gets better at this point.

I like him better than Goldman and any of the OT's that will be available.

There's guys like Orchard and McKinney, but I think it's a little too early for either. Maybe P.J. Williams.

I don't know...Armstead just seems to be the best option for the Chiefs at that point.

My advice.. the draft would have to be really ****ed for this to be true. Give a top 17, but even that would seem futile. DE is not a huge area of concern, and there must be better valued prospects available.

I always give sac shit for his stupid takes, so in fairness, I have to give him credit for this latest effort.

Very nicely done, and I can't complain about a single pick.

O.city 03-14-2015 10:48 AM

The more I think about it, the more he makes sense. So good job Sac.

O.city 03-14-2015 10:49 AM

Just throw need out the window at 18 though.

Take the best player available on your board, no matter position

I'm not really as high on this guy as most. I like Eddie Goldman as a DL pick if we have to have it.
Quick burst, huge body with big hands and long arms. More production in the pass rush (on paper at least).

I'm sticking to my idea that CB is the pick if we go defense due to the talent, positional value and money to replace a high contract like Dorsey has shown.

Although in the back of my mind I'm really starting to wonder if Eric Kendricks is in play because of his athleticism. Speed and fundamental tackling at LB killed us last season.
