Was American Graffiti a commercialized pop culture ripoff of The Last Picture Show? Discuss amongst yourselves.

RIP Laverne. I always wanted to bang Shirley though.

That was a 'mom' hairdo when I was a kid. And it's not like all their slouchy, zany antics were optimized for attractiveness. They were goofy sitcom gals. It's like arguing whether Balky was hotter than Cousin Larry.

Cindy Williams' attractiveness didn't register until I finally saw American Graffiti in college.

But Laverne had a rockin bod. Look up the clip of her and Carrie Fisher as Playboy Bunnies from the show.

During the era of their show, I could watch the original Charlie's Angels. I believe that's checkmate.

I’d put ‘League of our Own’ in my list of greatest sports films. No doubt.

Absolutely. It's one of those movies, like Aliens or Hunt for Red October, that if I'm channel surfing and it's on, I'll stop and watch it. Even my contempt for Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell doesn't stop my from loving it.

Her greatest achievement, IMO. RIP

I'd rather discuss how Kasdan's "The Big Chill" was a ripoff of Sayles' "Return of the Secaucus 7." He'll deny it, but Larry has been caught in other professional lies. Discuss...

Lynda was fine, no doubt about it. But she was outnumbered three to one, and even more if you include the mediocre angels.

Fascinating. Either way American Graffiti gave us Happy Days, the first two seasons of which were all-time great television.

Which in turn brought Laverne and Shirley, and we're back full circle.

1 angel was enough. 1970s Jacquelyn Smith was one of the world's greatest beauties.

Happy Days was actually first an episode of Love American Style.
