That sucks. RIP
I’d put ‘League of our Own’ in my list of greatest sports films. No doubt.

"Big" is a classic. She did the voice of the crazy babysitter in the very first episode of the Simpsons.

I was a little too young for the connection between 'Meathead' and Rob Reiner the great director to register.
Penny was one of the first people I saw on a TV screen, then went to watch her movies. Before Penny, I think my young mind thought that directing was something you needed a degree, or an apprenticeship, or some special license, to do. Of course, nowadays every actor leaps behind the camera at their first opportunity. |

Turns out, Shirley WAS hot. Though at the time I couldn't conceive of anyone with a short haircut like hers being hot.
That was a 'mom' hairdo when I was a kid. And it's not like all their slouchy, zany antics were optimized for attractiveness. They were goofy sitcom gals. It's like arguing whether Balky was hotter than Cousin Larry. Cindy Williams' attractiveness didn't register until I finally saw American Graffiti in college. But Laverne had a rockin bod. Look up the clip of her and Carrie Fisher as Playboy Bunnies from the show. |
