Mike McGlynn is the worst rated G on pro football focus. Donald Stephenson looks like Shawn Merroidman after he was busted and Ryan Harris is just as bad.

This team needs a new LG and RT bad. I don't care how they do it. I would prefer free agency, but knowing Reid he'll probably take a tackle rd 1.

When has Stephenson seen the field since he's been back?

Second half of the Broncos game.

RunKC 12-03-2014 03:15 PM

He's played mostly as the extra OL since he came back.

I'd draft Kendrick and send one of our late picks to balt for Arthur brown and see if he can still play

Stud NTs don't grow on trees, they're relatively rare. You don't let one walk off his rookie contract. The Chiefs drafting to replace Poe would be idiocy at its finest. You draft to replace declining, second contract guys and to fill voids, not to replace ascending first contract players.

We're in an odd year on the draft cycle. Under our old regimes, even years produced fruit. Perhaps this regime runs in reverse?

We'd better damned well hope so.

Mannion has kinda fallen off of my list as a guy I "want." He just hasn't taken that next step as a player like I thought he could/would. I was hoping to see more, better decisions, more velocity on his ball, better pocket awareness and ability to step into pressure. I've actually moved Shane Carden up as the QB I'd like to see KC take a shot on. Carden has a more compact release (although he needs to be less sloppy too sometimes), steps up into the pocket and into throws, has more velocity, and seems to read past his hot better.

Watch a lot of OSU games....do you?

OT is quite strong at the top and there will be good ones available when we pick.

Brace yourselves. We're going full Reid 1st rd.

Brace myself? Like that really needs to be said or done anymore.

Very good Pest. Because that's what Reid loves to draft in the first.

I still believe that Stephenson has somewhere in there a pretty solid NFL level offensive tackle. He looked the part last season. I think it's more of a continuity thing than a 'roid thing.

McGlynn is horrible and it hasn't helped Fisher having him next to him.

I really believed that Jeff Allen was going to have his breakout season, but that torn bicep/elbow thing just derailed everything.

Like I've said, I think we are one solid guard away from being a decent offensive line. IMO, John Miller looks to be one of, if not the best true left guard in this draft, though NFL guys love putting college tackles into that spot.

I'm just not enamored with the offensive line guys in this years draft and don't think that there are many who are going to be a better option than what we have in either Allen or Stephenson for the 2015 season.

If Stephenson can't crack this line at this point in the season, with the "playoffs" on the line... then he's toast.

And didn't Allen suck something horrible before he got hurt too?

Allen only had 3 negative grades in pass blocking last year and two were against dominant front 7's in Houston and Buffalo.

Hell Allen had only 3 negative grades in pass protection as a rookie as well. He also has never received a negative grade in screen blocking, which is probably a big reason why Andy loves him.

He's got solid footwork and technique a pass blocker, but it's obvious that his problem was that he wasn't strong enough to be the drive blocker for this type of scheme.
That's why he went to LeCharles Bentley's camp last offseason to work on his strength on a technique.

Losing Jeff Allen might be biggest blow to this team this year. He's not a great player, but he is a decent pass protector. Compared to Mike McGlynn, the WORST RATED G ON PFF, we downgraded significantly and it's killed this offense.
