Late night bullshit: pick your favorite "posse" set.

Sorter started a pretty cool thread a few days ago about the different offensive tendencies of Andy Reid.

And, well, since it is late night, and it is time for bullshit, and bullshit is what I do, I'm going to spend a couple nights from time to time putting together hypothetical arrangements based on the different personnel sets described in that thread.

Next up: the "posse" set. 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB.

Here are three sets. Pick your favorite, or create your own. Or do both.

A heavy overload to the RT side with the intent to force the defense between bracketing Bowe out wide (and therefore overpowering the defense with Asamoah/Fisher/Fasano with Davis), or forcing the D to honor the heavy right side and isolating Bowe. Option: put Baldwin in motion.

Cheating a bit since McCluster is technically a WR, but this is a speed package for the run or short pass. Baldwin and Bowe out wide to spread out the D.

Tons of combos here that allow for tons of options and tons of creativity. Full route trees are available for all four players out wide. Hell, move Charles in motion too if you're so inclined.

Poll forthcoming.

I'm liking set 3. Charles set up next to the QB, able to catch out of the flat. Also with Avery in the slot. Only thing I'd change would be; switch Bowe and Baldwin around, and possibly swap Fasano a WR.

RBL Posse FTW!

I went with 3 because, 1 does not have our biggest play maker on the field & 2 is assuming that brokeaki can walk out of the locker room without breaking a hip. 3 has a lot of options that will make it tough on opposing Ds

Replace Avery with Charles on #1 and run a power set with Davis acting as FB. Yeah.

My posse resides on Broadway.

#1.
Except with Charles or McCluster in the backfield, and also moved to the other side of the QB.
This forces the D into trio coverage on the posse side, with the FS playing CF. then you have the Bowe bracket. But with the handoff fake (and ostensibly QB run threat), you freeze the NB or OLB to the 1wr side, giving Bowe more room for a post or hitch underneath.
Or the D decides to bracket with the FS and CB, and you end up with Charles, McCluster, or a crosser matched with a 'backer.

Loved me sum Mario Van Peebles in that movie.

Lets take #3 but get Fasano outta there, i've seen him do some nice things but am not convinced he's the best receiver of our three at all.

Didn't like any of them. They all have this Smith guy in them and I just have to assume at this point that its not Geno. Since we have no QB's on the roster I say go wildcat instead.

Well boy, do I have some bad news for you.

Sassy Squatch 05-27-2013 03:02 AM

Why aren't you using the best personell in all of these posses? Charles should be on the field a majority of the time.

Anything without mccluster
