He is not, however, going to be truly effective in space. He's not replacing Houston.
If they are drafting Dupree, it's to build for the future with Ford taking Houston's spot and Dupree taking over for Hali, not the other way around.

I know nothing of Dupree, as I didn't watch any college ball this year.
But the way you describe him, he sounds a lot like Ford - a one-trick pony.
No clue why anyone would expect Ford to replace Houston and be a well rounded LB.
