It's not hard to understand. Today Faurot would have coached in 12 or more bowl games. Back then it was difficult to get to one and when you did, the competition was stiff. They had winning records, for example, unlike 3 of Mangino's 4 bowl teams. That's why two people who coached 70 years apart aren't so comparable.
