Then he doesn't have much fortitude. Heck, what's the use of protest if you can't handle anyone disagreeing with you [and that's assuming a best-case scenario where you give a clear cogent explanation of your protest and do so in the most effective and respectful way possible].
The guy sat during the anthem because, whatever his reasons in his own mind, he knew it would cause a reaction. But when he gets one, rather than try to change anyone's mind he runs off to the comfort of home. Narcissistic and weak-willed.
