Then he doesn't have much fortitude. Heck, what's the use of protest if you can't handle anyone disagreeing with you [and that's assuming a best-case scenario where you give a clear cogent explanation of your protest and do so in the most effective and respectful way possible].

The guy sat during the anthem because, whatever his reasons in his own mind, he knew it would cause a reaction. But when he gets one, rather than try to change anyone's mind he runs off to the comfort of home. Narcissistic and weak-willed.

Right, just a civil group of people disagreeing with him. No fans at all that overreacted to every mistake he made on the field, booed him, trolled him on the field, called him a thug, told him he sucks... nothing like that.

What superstar in their right mind would want to play for a city that treats them like that? No, I don't think he'd get nearly this kind of reaction in Seattle or Oakland, probably won't in LA. Those players protested too, you know, without nearly the same kind of backlash.

Maybe if CHunt had invested in a fainting couch on which for Peters to endure his vapors on the sideline. . . .

That would be expensive if you mean he'd also have to buy one for all the fans losing their blood pressure over a guy kneeling for the anthem. But right, to you, there's only one side overreacting to this.

FTR, I'm still not buying into your theory of murderous meany masses making Peters cry with their boos and hisses.

But even if I were, you're still missing the dynamic that one side is the customer, paying millions for entertainment, and the other is the performer putting millions in the bank.

Whatever about the performance displeases them, what's the incentive to remain silent about it? Do they get a game check? Or is it just the warm feeling of being a polite audience?

Seems to me you want the whitebread conservatism of your imagined audience when it makes them too polite to boo an asshole, but you also want to damn that same supposed stereotype when it gets tired of the antics and claps back.

So all customers supported trolling good players? Did it ever occur to you that there are many fans who want to win at all costs, and are disgusted at fans who put their social activism above winning? Are these fans supposed to be polite about it?

And go ahead and check the timeline. Peters' most visible protest headline was the day of the Vegas shooting before the Redskins game. He took a ton of shit for the protest, signs all over the stadium specifically directed at him in a nationally televised game, and it made national headlines. That week, he snaps at fans who were obviously trolling him. Next week, he snaps at Sutton. Two weeks later, the bizarre Raiders game and his road trip with Marshawn. But yeah, I'm sure that game had little impact whatsoever on his mental state.
