This last summer, I was driving out to Virginia Beach, to pick up my wife, and spend some time with the in-laws. I left right after work, so was pretty sure I wouldn't do the whole 1000 miles, without stopping.
I never make reservations, just drive until I get too tired, and find a place to plop.
That didn't work out so well this time, I pulled off in some little town in Pennsylvania. They were having some Biker fest, kind of like Strurgess NorthEast.
Stopped in the Holiday Inn, they wanted $260, went to the Comfort Inn, they wanted $185. So, I go to the KnightsInn, and she said $90. I told her I didn't want to invest in the place, just wanted to sleep a few hours. She said she had a room that the A/C didn't work, and would let me have it for $65.
Holy crap, the sheets were dirty, the carpet torn, and it had one hand towel. I put my T-Shirt over the pillow and crashed. Kept one eye open for bugs.
