I'd like to think he can improve and was set back this year because: his OC and HC were never on the same page, a new offensive system a week before the season, an ever changing WR corps., an early/mid season OL that let him get hit too many times giving him happy feet, league leading WR drops, no running game the first half of the season, the top WR getting a 4 game suspension, poor playcalling on 1st and 2nd down setting up 3rd and long.

Look, I don't necessarily disagree with any of these things, and I think Cassel will definitely be better with Weis on board. And that's a great thing.
But then you see a wobble punt to Chambers (or the crossbar) and have to be given pause by the stark reality that this guy just isn't the answer. At least as it pertains to building a championship-level team. The numbers, here and in NE, aren't lying.
I see him as just another stopgap.
